Course Curriculum Overview :
I am very interested in the agriculture sector since the beginning and decided from class 11th what I have to do, so I selected the agriculture sector. Here in our class, we have 150 students in the second semester & 10 subjects, for each subject we have 2 professors who have quite appreciable practical and theoretical knowledge in their area of research and study. Teaching is of a hybrid type both online & offline modes are incorporated into the teaching methods.PDF & PPTs are provided after each class. The exam timetable with tentative desire was provided from the start of the semester and exams always took place on time according to the datasheets provided.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure for B.Sc Agriculture Hons is about 6000- 7000 Rs per semester, however, for self-financed seats (SFS) fee is about 50000 Rs. per semester. Scholarships are provided to ST, SC & OBC category students yearly. Campus job opportunities are comparatively very less here, only a few companies come here for providing on-campus jobs however this is the best place to prepare for other exams by yourself.
Campus Life :
Life here on IGKV is very fun, enjoyable, and full of learning new things, it's like every day brought some new work or opportunity for us. As it is the main campus here we have at least 2 to 3 functions or programs each month. Agri-vision, fests, cultural programs, etc. are taking place and there is always an opportunity to earn. Library facilities here are very good with all kinds of books, with online study materials, and wifi facilities. The library is quite spacious with good very good surroundings and a study place. sports club and sports complex with indoor sports and seperate gyms for both men and women.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel facilities are moderate here- rooms are quite big and four students reside in one room. 24 x7 electricity and water, wifi, very cheap fees. mess available. The hostel is very cheap as compared to outside rooms or flats for a semester you have to pay approx Rs. 1500 to 2000 excluding mess fees which are approx. 1900 monthly with a 2-time meal.
Admission :
For getting admission to IGKV you have to qualify for the entrance exam known as CGPAT or ICAR-UG. Top rankers of CGPAT get admission to the College of Agriculture Raipur. And as for icar, it is a national level exam for general category students they have to secure a rank under 4000. Application form for both exams starts in April or mid-April via online mode on their official sites. There are NO application fees for chat and as for icar application fee is Rs. 400 for general category students. Reservations are available for both exams check the official sites for detailed information on the reservation scheme.
