Remarks :
Academics wise our college environment was expectionally good. But if you want to do some extracurricular activity like robotics in your free time, you have to do it on your own. The college management is really good but the persons connecting the management and the students are very much corrupt.
Entrance Preview :
I took OJEE(Odisha JEE) and secured a rank of 1057 in it. I wanted to pursue btech. in a reputed college and Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar was the best private college in Eastern India so I took the option as the most viable one and acted on it.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The courses offered at my college was more of academics oriented rather than research oriented. If you want to do any research you have to find time frpm your busy schedule. College won't give any support though even if you are talented enough to do something extraordinary. The college follows the curriculum to its core.
Internships Opportunities :
No. Our doesn't provide any interneship. It was all about academics and nothing else. The students have to do summer internship courses outside the college like NALCO., OPTCL, Lakshya etc.
Placement Experience :
The palcement and job opportunities are very much depended on the market condition. Mostly IT companies that to service based come to recruit btech graduates from our college. If the market condition is good then the placement goes well with 80-90 percent people getting jobs.
College Events :
Every year annual sports meet was conducted, alonwith with musical and dancing competition called resonance. The annual techfest was conducted every year inviting btech students from different colleges across the eastern India who participated in it. Robotics competitions, fun games, lan gaming competitions etc were held in our techfest. The prizes won in different competitions were distributed in our annual function which was held immediately after our tech fest every year.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
For our batch they charged Rs. 101000 each year. This was different for every batch. Each year they increase Rs.2000-5000 for the next batch. It included oyr tuition fees, laboratory expenses and also our transportation fees. This was for localites. The hostelites had to pay another 30000-35000 every year as part of their accommodation and canteen fees.
Fees and Financial Aid :
Only a few seats were reserved for tuition fee waiver students. The students getting admitted in this scholarship program had to pay only one-fifth of what the regular students were paying. Other than that I don't have any knowledge of any other scholarship program or loan facility offered in our college.
Campus Life :
Gender ratio was overally same. It was in some branches that the female gender ratio was lesser than male gender ratio. There was no room for extracurriculars but if you are very much interested you can go for one. Robotics club, cricket, basketball, volleyball , quizand music clubs were very much active.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel rooms were a bit clumsy. The had 2 sharing,3 sharing rooms and dormitories as well. The dormitories can accommodate up to 30 students at maximum. The hostels were inside the college campus so it was quite a convnience for the hostelites. The mess food was quite up to the mark on almost all of the days. Only few times they provided bad quality food.
Alumni/Alumna :
The seniors are very much helpful and the alumni network is very active thanks to social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter etc. The college often organises alumni meets for alumnus to increase interactions.
Exam Structure :
The exam structure was strictly according to the university guidelines. Sometimes the timeperiod between an internal exam and a lab exam was so less that immediately after taking an internal exam you have to sit for a lab exam on the same day. This repeatedly harassed the students as they didn't get enough time to prepare for two exams at the same time.
Admission :
I selected this college asy top priority depending on my Ojee rank. i was selected by the college as my rank was best fitted. I went to the college on the day when the admission process started. I filled in the form and submitted it alongwith the fees and got admitted in the institute.
Faculty :
Most of the faculties are well rehearsed in their domains. They are quite thorough in their subject and deliver it quite well. Except a few newbies who just entered into teaching profession after their studies were completed. They seemed to jot down the points from a book and recite it infront of tge students and if asked a doubt, they themseleves were not sure about it.
