- The society culture of Hansraj college is really sort after, we get to learn a lot as individuals and get the opportunity to grow, compete and diversify
- The faculty of our dept and others also are really qualified professors
Dislikes
- Some of the classrooms are very small and it leads to suffocation during summers specially
- The total area of college is smaller than all other colleges of north campus
Course Curriculum Overview :
Chose the course because of my interest in the field of Economics and the high scope of the current scenario About 25-30 professors in the faculty and 150 students per year Faculty constitutes of Associate and Assistant professors with qualifications of Master, PhD (or currently completing), B.Ed End Semester exams every 4 months; difficulty to pass 5/10 but manageable
Internships Opportunities :
Internships from Bain and Co, Younity, etc offer internships to students with stipends upto Rs. 5000 per month The positions are HR, Business management, marketing, consultancy, statistical analysis, editors, etc.
Placement Experience :
5th semester LEK, Bain and Co, DeShaw, No brotherhood, and Deloitte, are a few big companies, with about 5 offers per company on an avg Highest package- 25 lakhs per annum; Avg- 10 Lakh per annum 60-70% After getting the degree, I would apply for Master's in Economics at university abroad
Fees and Financial Aid :
Fee hikes by very fewer amounts every year (100-500 rs only); the cost of an overall degree is about 60000 Scholarship, financial assistance- did not apply for any Job- not yet completed college, but companies like LEK, Deloitte, Bain and Co offer placements
Campus Life :
Annual fest- Confluence, conducted in the month of March/April Classroom amenities- desks and chairs, teacher's desk, whiteboards, projector, fans, tube lights, ACs Sports- teams of football, cricket, archery, basketball, badminton, volleyball, etc represent the college at various state, national and international competitions ECA- societies of classical dance, choreography, western dance, folk dance, dramatics, music (Indian and western combined into one society), yoga, fine arts, poetry, etc. represent the college in various fest competitions, events and also perform in the college Many societies are present- Kavyaakriti (Classical Dance society), Oorja (Western Dance Society), Terpsichorean (Choreography Society), Abhivyakti (Folk Dance Society), Swaranjali (Music Society), Ecosoc (Economics Society), 180DC (consultancy society), Finance and Investment Cell, Internship Cell, Placement Cell, Enactus Hansraj, The Impact Project, Vintage (Fashion Society), Haritima, etc.
Admission :
Eligibility- 10+2 pass, with a minimum of 50 percent in board exams; for B.A (Hons.) Economics, Maths to be a compulsory subject in class 12, Economics as a subject not compulsory but non-inclusion in best of four aggregate would've led to a 2% deduction from BoF. Application form- On the official site of Delhi university (separate admissions portal); Application fees- about Rs. 1000, dates- mid of June I applied through the ECA quota wherein we had to submit certificates and LOR from teachers and institutes on letterhead
