Course Curriculum Overview :
I took ECE because I want to opt for VLSI for post-grad. The faculty is very nice and cooperative. They always try to solve the doubts and students can interact with the Professors for 1 on 1 doubt sessions. All the faculty members are Ph.D. and their teaching method includes practical applications which clear the doubts. Term exams are about 5 months for Even Semester and 4 months for Odd Semester as there are a lot of festivals in the Odd Semester.
Internships Opportunities :
There are no internships provided directly by the college. Students have to apply off-campus for internships. Yes, the professors will help to grab interns through their sources but officially there are no internship opportunities.
Placement Experience :
The placements start from the 6th semester. The students are mailed about the companies via the TPO. A lot of companies visit like TCS, Cognizant, Accenture, Infosys, Capgemini, Oracle, EY, and many more. The highest package offered was 12lpa and the average package is 5.5-6 LPA. More than 80% of students get placed in college placements. I plan to crack GATE and pursue higher studies.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The semester fees range from 44000 in the first year to 47300 in the last year. Initial admission fees of 72200 (including 1st sem) are taken during the admission. The cost of living depends on the location. There are no scholarships but students can apply for TF W in which the tuition fees are waived for financially challenged families. The placements are good. If a student is just attentive he/she can grab 6lpa easily and at maximum, they can go up to 12-15lpa on campus.
Campus Life :
The annual fest Eclecia is held each year and it is a week packed with a lot of entertainment. The fests at Heritage are the biggest in the entire West Bengal. So, a lot of fun awaits you. The tech fest Daksh is held every year with a lot of innovative challenges. Most of the books are available in the library and each student is provided with semester books for every semester. The classrooms are well-lit and ventilated with large windows and are digitally equipped with a projector and a screen alongside a green board. Sports events are held like intra-college, inter-college, and all in cricket, football, and many more. There are a lot of clubs to choose from like Anubhav, Pravasana, etc. All the clubs have a lot of events within themselves.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostels are nice and have 2 beds in a room. Each student gets a washroom shared between 4 students. The meals are nice and healthy and the meals change every day. Registration for a hostel is done during admission only and the cost is 60000Rs per year excluding meals. For meals, it is 3000Rs per month.
Admission :
The college took admission through WBJEE and JEE-MAIN. I got through WBJEE. The application fee for WBJEE is 500Rs and my rank was 4821. For ECE the cutoff was 7300 rank. The application for WBJEE is generally released in February and the exam takes place in May. It asks the basic PCM subjects and the questions are of good level but easier than JEE-MAINS.
