Honest Review about SVNIT

Remarks :

you can take admitted to Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat by clearing the Joint Enterance Exam (JEE) and achieving the required cut-off for admission. The counselling takes place by JOSAA. You need to fill up the form and give the required fees for participating.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose Computer Science and Engineering because I have an interest in coding. The number of faculties is sufficient for the students. Faculties are well qualified and have good knowledge about their subjects. They teach using the blackboard as well as digital boards. The exams are conducted semester-wise. Mainly mid-semester exams and End semester exams. Quizzes are also conducted along with the practical exams. The Btech course is of 8 semesters in total which is of about 4 years.

Placement Experience :

After completing the third year of the course i.e the 6th semester, the student is eligible for sitting in the placement-related exams and the interviews. Awesome companies like Maruti Suzuki, Microsoft, airtel, Bharat Petroleum, J.P.morgan, TATA, Intel, Godrej and many big companies visited the campus for the placements. The highest package of SVNIT is 49.5 LPA and the average package is 8 to 10 LPA. 79% of students are placed in SVNIT. My plans after completing my degree are to take placement.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

As Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology is a government institute, your fees also depend on which category you belong to i.e you can take advantage of reservations in this institute. the per semester fee in general is around 75000 Indian rupees.

Campus Life :

SPARSH is the annual fest of Saradar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology. The name of the tech fest is MINDBEND. They are conducted around March or April. SVNIT has an awesome library with a good number and quality of books. Students prefer a library for study purposes as the environment is good and silent enough to study. You will get a beautiful experience while studying there. The college has nice classrooms with proper facilities except for the old departments of the college. As it is a national institute the sports facilities are amazing. There are basketball courts, Tennis Court, a Badminton court, a gym, etc. for sports and healthcare. There are many clubs in the college such as the literary club named LAC, the Hindi cell, the fun club named CHRD, the technical club ACM and many more. You can find more about the clubs on the official website of SVNIT. svnit.ac.in

Hostel Facilities :

There are nine hostels in the college including the hostels for girls, boys and for families of the students that are pursuing PhD from the institute. The menu of the hostels is good but the food quality and taste are not that good. It even depends on day-to-day. Sometimes the food is not even eatable and sometimes it's too good. You can register for the courses through the administration of the institute and the online portal.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum here is normal like not that exclusive and I don't think that the curriculum will help you in the real world you have to do something else no the other hand like some special certifications or some other courses and certificate to get a good job and to be fully prepared for the real world the teachers are here are not that great when it comes to the academics you have to read by yourself and if you are a great student I am pretty sure that you can understand what they are saying but maximum students use YouTube as a medium of studying before exam and yes 75% attendance is mandatory here
