Remarks :
The admission process overall was fairly simple. To be eligible for this course in NALSAR, a student must write the CLAT entrance test which is conducted by the CLAT Consortium. Details of the same can be found on the website. The exam is a 150 marks MCQ based paper to be attempted in 2 hours with a 0 25 negative marking for each wrong answer. A student can apply for this exam from the website. If you wish to try to secure a seat without entrance you should apply in the category of foreign nationals and must fulfill the eligibility criteria required. The other reservations include OBC, SC, ST, EWS, PWD, and other State domicile reservations. For now, I would like it if the NALSAR administration doesn't require the fee to be failed in full at the time of admission to secure the seat. It is difficult to arrange such a huge sum in such less time frame with no advance intimation whatsoever.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course as BA would allow me to pursue social subjects and simultaneously LLB, for my interest in Law. Faculty to student ratio is not bad and the teachers/professors are highly qualified with enormous knowledge and prior publications in their subject matter. Along with their subject, they teach you how to learn more about your interests. There are two semesters per year. Each semester one needs to write midterm and end-sem examinations. 50/100 is the passing mark in each subject. It is not that difficult to pass if you put required time and effort.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure is a little daunting. It's 92,000 for the 1st year. But scholarships are available for the needy whose annual income is less than 8 lakh rupees. The details can be found in the administration department. Sadly, there are no campus jobs available.
Campus Life :
Social life at NALSAR is undoubtedly one of the best. You'll you have some or other fest almost every month eg. Awadh magadh, Rajasthani fest, Lodhi fest, Southie fest, west fest, Telugu fest, Onam, literary fest, and the biggest fest of the year is "Carpe diem". Along with these, you can dance your shoes off on frequent DJ nights organized. The resources that nalsar library offers both online and offline will surely set you ahead in your research as a student. The huge database of books, e-databases like manupatra, SCC online, journals, pwd friendly resources, and staff, etc. Classrooms are fairly good and modern to suit the needs of students. Sports like cricket, football, basketball, kabaddi, etc. have college teams and indoor games like chess and table tennis are also encouraged by the student groups. Almost every social group and club is wholly student-run like an academic committee, ADR, debate club, literary group, moot club, social welfare, mess, workers' social welfare committee, etc.
