CUSAT

Remarks :

should have completed the 10+2 examination by a recognized board. should attend the CAT examination. Application forms can be found on CUSAT official website. The dates are tentative and are published once it is fixed. Reservations are provided for EWS/OBC/OEC/SC/ST and also transgenders. Sports quota reservation is also provided. during the admission process, spot admissions are often based on who arrives earlier, which could be changed.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose law because I've wanted to for so long and CUSAT because it's the best. there is a 10:1 ratio of students and faculty. all the faculty are extremely qualified with their master's and PhDs. The teaching method is easy to understand and the exams that we have to attend, though moderately difficult, we can score well with some effort.

Internships Opportunities :

internships are usually done for the experience so normally unpaid internships are done. but several paid internships are also given, provided all the requirements are met. depending on the courses the projects and outcomes are different.

Placement Experience :

campus placements usually occur during the 10th semester. several great packages are offered and everyone usually gets placements. the highest packages would be 40,000 per month. I plan to either write judicial exams after the course or accept the placement I receive.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

the fee is around 28000 per semester, so that would be around 56000 a year. so for this 5-year course, it would be approximately 2,80,000 in total. for my first year, I received a scholarship through the national scholarship portal.

Campus Life :

the social and cultural life in cusat is very live as there are several programs happening all over cusat most of the time; be it arts, sports, cultural events, literature fests, etc. It is usually conducted at the discretion of the student community. the infrastructure though good can be made better. there are lots of facilities students can access. the students run several clubs for moots, cultural events, etc.

Other Applied Colleges

Mahatma Gandhi University, School of Indian Legal Thought - [SILT] | Bachelor of Business Administration [BBA] + Bachelor of Laws [L.L.B.] {Hons.}

the course provided in CUSAT was much more better than compared to SILT

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum for the course is well thought and planned out, in relation to law related subjects the first focus is on the Constitution as it should be, the curriculum includes the important topics and is satisfactory. The bcom part of LLB prepares you for the real world by teaching you basics of accountancy amd business which might be necessary for your future. The course curriculum can be improved in areas of adding newer laws that were altered and added to our legal system to out textbooks as well. The frequency of exams are as necessary and the difficulty is moderate.

Cuuriculum is being updated. It is comprehensive enough but feels like a bit outdated in few areas.College has nothing to do with it.Decisions has to be made by the university. The faculties tries their best to help you pass your exams without suppliment and the rest is up to us.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum appealed to me because it includes practical case studies and moot court sessions, which make legal theory more tangible. These aspects are crucial as they prepare us to apply what we learn in real legal scenarios. I feel adequately prepared for real-world legal practice due to the practical nature of the curriculum. It also lays a solid foundation for those considering advanced studies in specialized legal While the curriculum is solid, more emphasis on current legal issues and interdisciplinary perspectives could provide a more holistic understanding. Interactive classes and more practical exercises would enhance learning and engagement.

From 8th semester onwards we will be getting campus placement and many students availed it. Namely I don't know companies name . I think highest package is 50000/- per month with all facilities. Almost 50% students get placement in our college. My plan is to attain a bank manager post or to get in to the govt jobs.

Placement Experience:

A number of students from their second year placed for internships. Job placements are done in the final year. Most of the students choose to practice after graduation. There is a number of a law firm in Ernakulam. Thus internship opportunities are greater for students. There is 28 days internship every year as a syllabus. 80% of students are placed in companies. I'm planning to practice for 3 to 4 years along with preparation for judicial service exams.

No campus placement is provided by college because it is a government college. After getting degree I planned to practice in Kerala high court and also wants to attempt judicial service examination. I also planned to join LLM at central University or in Canada. In Canada there are many opportunities for LLB graduates.
