My NITTTR life

Remarks :

For getting admission to NITTTR one should have a valid GATE score with a minimum 60% B.Tech score. There are 3 different ways to get admission to NITTTR, Chandigarh - Through CCMT with a valid GATE score, Through the PGCET exam, Direct admission as per B.Tech score card. (Apply through the NITTTR, Chandigarh official website, form available. Reservation benefits will be given as per the central govt. rules. Admission is not that tough, if you just score the cut-off in GATE you can easily get admission to NITTTR. And candidates with GATE scores will be preferred first.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Courses are designed as per the latest research areas in the industry and maintain Punjab university standards. I choose this course because the research facilities here is one of the best in India and student can get a chance to do their thesis project in CSIR as this college signed MOU with CSIR. The faculty-student ratio here is 1:4 which is good. And all the faculties here are highly qualified and the recruitment of faculty is done as per PU standards. In a semester here we have to give 3 exams, 2 MSTs, and 1 final semester exam. Questions are moderate level and to pass the exam one has to study hard. Questions are in descriptive type no MCQ in any exam.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Fees per semester are Rs. 25000 (Tuition fee) Hostel fees are Rs. 12500 /sem and mess fees Rs. 3300 /month. Students who scored at least cut off in GATE get scholarships from AICTE. If any student does their thesis under any project from a company or organization then he/she will get paid from that company or organization. No financial assistance is given by the college.

Campus Life :

Various clubs are here in the college like sports, yoga, culture, tech, etc. where students, as well as faculties, actively participate. In the winter every year all the clubs organize their fest. the library is really good here all the latest research-related journals, books, and e-books are available, and a separate study room is there in the library. Library timing - 9.30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Classrooms are fully AC and have enough space for sitting, and smart boards are available in some classes. On the campus a cricket ground and an indoor badminton court and a volley court are available. A T.T. room and gym rooms (male and female separately) are also available. Overall the campus is full of greenery and a peaceful environment is there, perfect for research work.

Hostel Facilities :

In the hostel, students will get a single room to stay and in the room a cooler is available, bed and study table will be provided by the hostel authority. The room is quite big for a single person and has a balcony. Hot water in winter and a water cooler is also available. Food in the mess is not that good only vegetarian food available, and every day they cook different dishes as per the routine. For hostel registration, students should have the admission form receipt, id proof, and a photo. Show this thing to the hostel reception then after fill-up a form you will get your room. In the locality also lots of places are there where room rent and PG facilities are available.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think the course curriculum could have been better because it had subjects and topics that we have already covered in bachelors so there was no point for them in the masters. But few subjects were new to me and i had to do a lot of work done to get through them.

Placement Experience:

College placements are good, many students get placed. Some prominent companies that come for campus placements are Exonn Mobil, Shell, Vedanta, Cairn Oil, and Gas, etc. The highest package that is offered is around 12lacs/year and the average package is around 6lacs/annum.

Placement Experience:

the placement cell at the Centre for Master of engineering Studies and Planning is available here. our collage works So hard to ensure that the students from every batch get an opportunity to intern at some reputed firm( be it research or corporate) as well as are placed well at the end of the course. Most of our final placements are in the form of PPO. Moreover, the batch strength isn't huge, so the probability of any person not getting placed on completion of the course is very less. So it is high percentage about 60-70%. My plans after getting the degree is to take admission in any good company i got. There are pretty much availability for jobs so its so good job opportunities after this degree.

Entrance Preview:

Gate 2015. It was very difficult to get score in gate. I was preparing fir last 1 year. And I crack that entrance exam with a good rank in gate. And this college is too good for M.tech.

Placement Experience:

The placements and job opportunities is depends upon your efforts. If you work hard you will get job easily. If don't than you have to face lot of problems.
