Remarks :
For applying for this course you have to give an entrance exam which is central universities entrance test, eligibility for this course is you should have a PCM in your 12th, you can find the application form on the site NTA, application fee is 500 approximately, relaxation for sc st here, the exam is mostly held in march April period for both UG courses and pg courses, there are 200 rupees charges for sc st category applicants. The recent cuet exam was conducted in 2 months duration, which was a long period, it can be improved
Course Curriculum Overview :
I have opted for this course to gain knowledge in the language field, like how a language is formed, how people acquire it, and how can I save a distinct language, for this course integrated M.Sc. in linguistics the facilities are too less. There are only 3 faculties for this course, the faculties are intelligent as they have studied at foreign universities, the faculties are very friendly, and supportive too, they take classes from time to time, but at least they have more teachers, there are two female professor, both have done Ph.D., one is from Manipur and other is from Delhi, both teach us very well. Now talking about exams, the exams are held per semester, there are two semesters in a year, and there are 5 subjects ( maths, linguistics, English, computer science, and statistics) in both semesters, linguistics is easy to pass, but most difficult subject to passing here is maths, so be ready to face maths if you are opting this course.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
First, sem fees are 10k and 2nd sem fees are 5k, it is for the first year after that 5990 is for all semesters, hostel fees is 5990 too but for sc/st students its free, there are no scholarships from the university itself, you have to go through UGC sites or Central govt sites to get scholarship on your own, I didn't get any scholarship till now, the university provides NPTEL courses.
Campus Life :
There are convocations held every here at the end of the year, Indian festivals are celebrated all the time whenever it comes like Holi, Diwali, Onam, and many more, poetry, and debate competitions are held every month in the auditorium, the auditorium is also big. The Library is a little bit small but now they have made another library too, the library has so many books and novels, all books have more than 2-3 copies. The classrooms are very big, they have provided a big hall too for around 200 students. There are ACs in classrooms. On the campus, there are two basketball courts, two volleyball courts, one tennis court, one badminton court, one cricket field, and a football ground. There are indoor sports games too, like table tennis and badminton. Sports activities and sports competitions are held every month, students do play football and basketball every morning and evening. There are 4 clubs Sargam club, drama club, dance club, and poetry club. You can participate in it.
Hostel Facilities :
There are 3 hostels for boys and 5 hostels for girls, rooms of boys' hostel are 2x2 size in which there is one almirah, a ceiling fan, a tube light, they provide two beds and two mattresses, one room is filled with two students for boys and 3 for girls. Girls' hostel rooms are usually bigger than boys'. The hostel is a very big and good environment. The food in the mess is average. The fee for the mess is 13k for 6 months, the quality isn't good as the money for the mess.
