Course Curriculum Overview :

Choosing the medical field was my dream since childhood. This college provides the perfect environment for studies and overall development required for students. Being the highest ranked medical College in Gujarat and constantly bagging a good ranking in all Indian medical College rankings there are no loopholes in the academic part provided by the college. There are well-experienced and passionate professors and the tutor to students ratio is more than sufficient. Since I joined the college there hasn't been a lecture that went vacant. While talking of academic curriculum our college strictly follows the curriculum provided by NMC. The professors are very much qualified in their field having done their post-graduation and higher studies from the b.j Medical College Ahmedabad itself or various top-notch colleges across India. The testing and marking scheme of the exams are competitive with top colleges. The tests are never delayed and the schedule is tightly monitored.

Internships Opportunities :

In the medical field, an internship is provided by the hospital attached to the college. B.j Medical College is under Asia's biggest civil hospital i.e civil hospital Ahmedabad. The internship Is very educational and participatory. There are very high scopes of learning new diseases and symptoms every day as the patient inflow is very high. Not only Ahmedabad patients from all over Gujarat as well as neighboring states trust this hospital. Being a multi-specialty hospital it provides vast opportunities to its interns to become skilled and exceptional doctors in the future. Ward and opd duties are assigned to the interns as per the schedule. There is a strict follow-up of the rules made for the welfare of junior doctors and interns by the regulatory committee. The stipend as of the academic year 2021-22 is 18k. It is supposed to increase every 3 years by 5k.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee for mbbs course is 25k per year and the hostel fee as of the not the academic year 2021- 22 is 1.2k rs per year. There is no such policy for time-wise increment in the fee. Although there is a bond policy for state quota students. After they complete their mandatory internship at the college they have to give service to Gujarat state medical system for 2 years. If failed to do so the amount which equals to 15+5 lakh will be recovered from the candidate. There is the provision of a 15+5 lakh bond agreement between the Candidate and the college. 15 lakh property or asset to be mortgaged by bank and notary paper to be submitted to the college with the agreement. And 5 lakh Fixed deposit on the name of the college to be submitted to the college. The bond policy for all India quota students doesn't exist. There are various scholarship schemes that can be availed by the students of bj. Many of which are easy to avail. 1. Fe scholarship 2. Digital Gujarat scholarship 3. state sc/St scholarship

Campus Life :

Campus life is never boring. From lecture theatre to dissection hall and physiology tutorial to biochem experiments everything is engaging and involving. One never feels separate from the course as everything requires active participation. The college has the biggest medical fest in Gujarat state "BJ BEATS " the four days and nights of the fest are the most memorable days of the year. The fest includes cultural night, celebrity concert, Garba session, unplugged night, and various small games and tournaments of cricket, football, kabaddi, volleyball, badminton, etc. The medicos from around the state take part in the fest. The overall budget of the fest goes up to 50 lakh. The library is well maintained and centralized air-conditioned. There is the availability of almost all important and rare journals and books. Being issued to students. The lecture theatres are air-conditioned and digital. Sitting capacity of 250. And an auditorium with a capacity of 500. JDA is group for studentbythestudent.

Hostel Facilities :

A hostel facility is best. There are two occupants in a room. Light and pure water facility being provided 24×7. It's been 8 to 10 months me been here I haven't seen an electricity cut of more than 5 minutes and that too very rare. The bathroom and toilet area are well built and fully functional. They are properly maintained by the housekeepers who are regular and always on time. The lobby is cleaned every day and the rooms are on request by the housekeepers. Mess is run by students and the meals are based on selection by students. The quality is exceptional I can't compare the food prepared in mess to the one I used to have at home. The meal is provided 2 times a day. And that is too fully hygienic. Hostels are allowed for students who belong to other than Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. They are being allotted at the time of admission. The rest being nominal (1200rs/year)the hostel is very much affordable.

Other Applied Colleges

All India Institute of Medical Sciences - [AIIMS], Rishikesh | Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)

During counseling time there was no surity of post graduation quota in the institute. Although later on the rule was formed

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum in MBBS is usually strict and full of workload and time but good colleges do provides holidays and programms for the stress relief of students and even the residents who are working regularly in the opds and hospital. But inspite of all these above our college is such a backward in this case. No order of curriculum, no proper schedules. Schedule of exams are decided to held just after any festival or holiday in order to exploit students holidays. Only 7 days of official holiday is provided by college for summers in whole freaking year less than any college ranking this high in country... Any student from other states just can't make chaoice rather than taking absent leaves and then covering them. Even exams on festivals like Diwali making it worse.. This increases a lot of pressure on students, making them mentally stressed causing a toxiz environment in college life...
