Remarks :
College management could use some more knowledgeable staff in their administration. But otherwise it was all good.
Entrance Preview :
CAT This is considered to have one of the best placements in Mumbai and is amongst the top 5 colleges of Mumbai. In my year, admission was based on 12th PCM scores for Institute Quota seats.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Course structure is directly as per the guidance of Mumbai University and it's fairly theoretical with little importance to practicals. Although the staff was very well versed and did focus more on practical understanding and hence the practicals were really good.
Internships Opportunities :
College did provide internship from a few companies. I remember Microsoft being one of them. However, I do not have an idea of the stipend. The overall experience was good.
Placement Experience :
Placements started right from start of 7th semester. The packages started from 11LPA (Morgan & Stanley) to mass recruiters like LnT (3.5LPA with bond) and Cognizant (3.5LPA). Other companies were - MAQ Softwares (4.5LPa), Coupon dunia(3LPA), KPMG(4LPA), JPMorgan (6.8LPA), Credit Suisse (10LPa), Diebold (5LPA),
College Events :
Nirmaan Fest is celebrated in our college and it holds events participated by several other students from across Mumbai. The fest hosts all different kinds of technical and non technical activities and is a learning ground for all the students who participate in management of the fest in some or the other way. College gives leniency to the students who are managing the fest in terms of attendance, which is good.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
It could be said midrange during my year. Not too expensive and not feasible also. It was 65K for first year and increasing by 7% each subsequent year. For a middle class student, managing so much for a year can become a little tough; but that said, this college provides one of the best placements.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I am not aware of any kind of loan or scholarships that were available to use. Even if they did offer it must have been done privately as I do not remember them putting up anything for this on notice boards - or I might have missed it.
Campus Life :
In information technology, a lot of different extra curricular activities were given out by college and it's different communities. It was a very nice time learning in each of them. Robotics, debates, cloud computing, Linux, Web design are some of the activities I remember.
Hostel Facilities :
I didn't take any of these facilities as I had arranged for my own food and stay. Although I hear that hoste was good but mess facilities was pretty substandard. The fees for hostel were quite less - about 8K a year. I am. It sure about the mess as haven't used it.
Alumni/Alumna :
The seniors were very friendly and helpful and we did hangout together many times. The experience with them was pretty nice.
Exam Structure :
It was pretty chilled out and planned wel in advance. The days of exams were a little hectic as there would be two or three subjects in a day for Midterms. There were weekly Monday exams - one on Each Monday morning. Labs were distributed at different times throughout the week.
Admission :
Administration has released a notice that the Institute Level Seats will take candidates on merit based on their PCM scores. The staff was very helping in procuring form as well as during the admission process which I remember was very courteous and considerate of students need. In fact they delayed admission process by 1-2 hours because of heavy rains!
Faculty :
Faculty is well qualified and more importantly are very helpful to students. They have the struck the right chord of balance between being stringent and being lenient. The teaching staff was knowledgeable about their subject and they encourages students to learn practically and also give presentations.
