I am satisfied with my college life at CHIPS, Chowdavaram.

Remarks :

I have applied through EAMCET rank which was 10,025. Just we should wait for the counseling dates by checking newspapers after the exam results. You have to visit the particular counseling center mentioned in the newspaper and select the colleges. Go for the best pharmacy colleges in India on YouTube for that. If you get a good rank you will be getting a free seat with reimbursement from the government. If not you have to go through payment seat which should be contacted with the college management early to reserve your seat. Reservation categories will be applied to our course. They can get seats according to the particular year's reservation rules & regulations. Be careful with application codes at the counseling center which would be confused for others. For example, Our college code is CIPS but it was mistaken for Chalapathi Institute of pharmaceutical sciences which is CLPT. Keep in mind to go through the first counseling itself.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I have joined this course by choice as I have missed my Medicine seat. I felt this course I the best to gain clinical knowledge. A total of 50 faculty members are monitoring our college. The ratio is about 1:20 approx. Many of our professors are ph. D holders with hands-on experience in teaching from at least 10 years. Exams were conducted every 4 months (Mid) and yearly exams at the end. The pass percentage is 99%.

Internships Opportunities :

We will be doing an internship at NRI general and super-specialty hospital, Mangalagiri as a pharm D intern as part of our course. In our 5th year, we will be trained for doing projects and published in reputed journals.

Placement Experience :

Students in the mid of the 6th year were eligible to attend campus interviews. Companies such as clinical solutions, Banglore; Episource, Chennai; Medi Assist, Banglore; Sri Raetna Solutions, Banglore; Excelra, Vijayawada; have visited this academic year. Each student will have a minimum of 1 offer and a maximum of 3 offers in hand. The highest package is 3 LPA and the average package is 2.4 LPA for jr. Clinical data associate & Jr. medical coder respectively. 100% of students were placed. After getting my degree I would like to join a campus placement job at Episource, Chennai for the Jr. Medical coder position.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

At present, our college fees per year are 30,000 INR. If you stay in a hostel extra 40,000 should be paid. Previously we have received reimbursement for our course till 2019 but from then we haven't been receiving any money from the government. We have paid our dues by ourselves.

Campus Life :

It is common we have all these fests at the year-end in March. There are hell lot of books if you are interested to study. You can take them home and study well. All new arrivals are also made available at our college. Classrooms are provided with a fresh atmosphere with ventilators, fans, chairs, & blackboards, and projectors for presentations. Every year we have CHIPSOIREE as a sports event in which students from various pharmacy colleges visit and participate actively. Chips alumni on Facebook.

Placement Experience:

You are eligible for campus placements Only after the successful completion of the mandatory internship. As it is a clinically oriented course we need to try it in hospitals first. Pharmacovigilance- 5 to 7 LPA Clinical research- 4 LPA CLINICAL PHARMACIST- 3 to 5 LPA Only around 20 % of students get placement in MNC'S. You can start your clinical pharmacy practice or go for higher education I'm planning to start clinical pharmacy services.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because of my interest in clinical practice and to get better knowledge about drugs. The faculty and student have good interactions, we have a minimum experience of 2 years in PharmD and m.pharmacy as our faculty. They teach us nicely and after completion of the class, there will be a review of the topics by asking questions and repeating the main summary of the topic again. We have term exams every year only once. It was very difficult to pass the exams, if we don't have minimum average marks in mids, it will be very tough to pass the term exams.
