Remarks :

Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy considers JEE Advanced qualified candidates for its admission in mainly two Engineering departments namely, Petroleum and Chemical 4 year B.Tech. For applying for admission to IIPE; a student after qualifying for the JEE Advanced exam has to manually apply on the IIPE website (www.iipe.ac.in) and follow the instructions as stated. Selection criteria for reservations are the same as per JoSAA rules. Admission is quite smooth, fair and peaceful without any ambiguities!!!

Course Curriculum Overview :

To be honest, Oil and Gas Industry is something that gives exposure to some of the toughest challenges in life, so was I keen into getting this course. IIPE was very warm it helped me out in overcoming all the challenges. Faculty Student ratio was another salient feature of IIPE because it provided one-to-one interaction and a healthy atmosphere to nourish students' skillsets. Every faculty of IIPE are PhD holders (mostly from an IIT) in some of the finest specializations equipped with wholesome knowledge to provide a fine education to the students. Exams are scheduled very properly and accurately in a phased manner, and the difficulty of the paper is quite commendable.

Internships Opportunities :

Several companies belonging to both core and IT sector have given Internship opportunities to students of IIPE. Some of them are ONGC, IOCL, HPCL Saint Gobain, etc from the core sector, while SG Analytics, etc from the IT sector.

Placement Experience :

From the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placements. Very excellent companies pertaining to core sectors like ONGC, HPCL, GAIL, and OIL have visited IIPE for campus recruitment drives in the respective branches. Several IT and Analytics companies like SG Analytics, EXL Analytics, and Infosys have visited IIPE for campus drives. The number of offers made is higher than the total number of students! In the previous batch(2018-2022), almost the whole of the batch was placed except for a few going for higher studies/ personal plans.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The best thing about the institute is that the tuition fee is lesser as compared to IITs. So IIPE has an edge in this case. Scholarships are availed based upon the respective credibility of the student with his/her clause at the Scholarship committee of IIPE.

Campus Life :

Shasvat is the annual fest held by IIPE. Generally, it is held in the month of March every year. Recently there have not been any Cultural fests owing to the Covid-19 pandemic. The library of IIPE is really great to have some of the finest collections of books pertaining to the particular industry and many more. The classrooms of IIPE are set up with centralized Air Conditioning with modern classroom amenities. Sports and Extra Curricular activities are given proper heed as well along with academics hence it maintains a proper balance. There are several clubs for students run by the students like Literary and Communication Club(LITCOM), E-Cell, and many more!

Hostel Facilities :

Both AC and non-AC rooms are provided by the Institute. Students can choose the room of their choice. The hostel rooms seem pretty fine and are tidy having all the necessary requirements like a Study table and a chair, Wifi, etc! The mess menu is also a splendid one that can easily satisfy the interests of individuals coming from any part of India. The registration process for Hostel is via IIPE Erp and is pretty smooth and easy!

Course Curriculum Overview:

After JEE Advanced the student who cannot make it to the IITs comes here despite having prior knowledge of the branches. The faculty-student ratio is good at 1:9. The qualification of most of the faculty is good. Term exams are not so difficult and easy to score and they are taken timely.

Always don't focus on placements and select the college. Search for college which concentrate on co-curricular and other technical activities.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible from the final year 1st semester. TCS and Accenture are the major recruiters, followed by Deloitte, Cognizant, and MuSigma. TCS and Accenture were selected by almost 1000 students from all the branches. The highest package offered is Microsoft which is 10L and the Average salary is 3.36L for the System Engineer role. 80% of students usually get placed in the first 8 months and the remaining 10% get placed by end of the course. My plan is to go for an MBA after a prior experience.

Placement Experience:

Campus placement training is for different sections is there. for that also we have to pay a certain amount which is 8000, So those companies like Wipro, Infosys, TCS, TeChmahindra, Genpact, Capgemini, Mphasis, HCl, ETC. The highest package is a fresher 7 LPA. Minimum package 3 LPA and few 2.6 depends upon roles. 60- 65 % percent of people will be in place. I want to work as a software engineer at Capgemini.
