I took GATE This is an examination conducted by AICTE. Now the exam is replaced by the name GPAT. Those who were having B Pharm qualification can write this exam.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Good and research oreanted. The entire course is comprisiong of two years. In the first year it is purely academic comprising of four subjects each with both practical and theory. One common paper of pharmacy and three subjects from the specialisation. Helps to get a thorough knowledge regarding the appropriate baranch of specialisation of pharmacy.

Internships Opportunities :

No internship. But they arrange industrial projects which are normally without any pay. It is part of the curriculam.

Placement Experience :

Good placement assistance is there. Mostly in the sales and marketing of the pharma companies. Some were even place in production as well as R & D. Some students got placement overseas also. Certain students got an idea of enterprenership also. Post graduate students mostly enter into accademic areas as they generally wish to become teachers.

College Events :

Most of the national festivals and certain relegious festivals. Some times seminars will be arranged. Staff development programme may also there. The programmes are generally academic oreanted and it will eventually beficiable to the staff and students. Faculty from different states along with the students will attend these programmes.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

It is feasible and reasonable. It comes under a lakh per year and it shgould be payed at the commencement of each year. Since stipend is also available it is not a burden. Capitation is not there. Only the fees prescribed by the university and government.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Stipend is there from AICTE for Gate qualified ones. Educational loan is provided for the needy students from the nationalised as well as private banks.

Campus Life :

Students are there from various parts of India.Boys and girls are there and generally almost the same in number. The facilities towards sports are little. Other co curricular and extracurricular activities were also rare. The labs wer good as per the stipulations laid by the various governing authorities. Students especially post graduates were having easy access through out the day and night for their research activities in the labs.

Hostel Facilities :

It is only average. Food is also average. Only south indian food is available. Since the students are from different states this should be considered. Also the standards of hostel should be improved. Recreational activities in the hostel are rare and this also should be taken into consideration.

Alumni/Alumna :

Yes they are helpful. Contacts can be available through social media. Also they are helping related to plaqccements and conducting seminars.

Exam Structure :

Annual. The university is conducting thory, prfactical and orall exam at an annual pattern. The regular exams were in the month of August or September and the supplimentary exams are conducting in the month of March and April. In the second year of course only oral exams are trhere after evaluating the dissertation.

Faculty :

The faculty are highly qualified both with post graduation as well as PhD. They are really motivable to the students. They helps the students by taking lectures and practicals as well as clearing their doubts. The most important thing regarding faculty is that they are easily accessable to the sstudents.

Remarks:

We’ve some remarks as we don’t have student leader to solve our issues and we don’t have elections for the same, but it’s very much of a liberal college, our college backs a ACPE accreditation as we’re the second college to get it in the world outside america and we’ve naac A grade

The College takes a regular examination to assess the student, however students who are GPAT qualified are given more preference. Practical laboratories in JSS are of high standards with latest equipment and facilities. Also library is JSS is one among the best. I preferred to join this college in particular due to the infrastructure of the college.

Placement Experience:

JSS College has been good in placing its students all over the country and to few of them also abroad. Many companies such as Micro labs, Bioclinica, Novartis, Dr. Reddy's laboratories, Novo Nordisk and other pharmaceutical companies come for placements. Most of the students are placed from the college every year. Package ranges from 2.5 to 5.5 lakhs per annum

I took the GATE exam in 2006 and got admitted in this college. It was my first choice over my previous college. There was no interview or anything like that. On admission day, they just showed me the classroom.

Placement Experience:

Good, in general. Teachers usually prefer to send you to other pharmaceutical colleges in your state due to lack of company opportunities in places like Kerala.
