Remarks :

Surely amongst the top 5 colleges in West Bengal especially if you are into choosing or govt. jobs. One has to appear in WBJEE and through counseling, one can get admission to KGEC. The application form can be found on the college website. You have to fill it out and send it to the Deputy registrar of the college. After verification, your admission will be confirmed.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I always wanted to become an ECE engineer so I opted for this course. There are many professors in the college. The faculty-student ratio is like 1:35. Term exams were extremely timely and the difficulty was moderate if you studied properly. If you provided two hours of time daily for studying you could pass the exams very easily. The teachers are helpful.

Class Size : 60Course Fees : INR 100000 per year

Placement Experience :

The students become eligible for campus placements from the final year. The companies which visit the campus are- TCS, Intel. The highest package and lowest packages are 8.5 LPA and 3 LPA respectively. The average package is 4.5 LPA. The college has a poor placement of about 35%.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The cost to study is extremely low as compared to other colleges in West Bengal as it is a govt. college. The course fee varies from department to department. You get all the benefits but the price is low. You need not take any financial assistance AFAIK. The college allows scholarships like SVMCM, SIMENS, OASIS etc.

Campus Life :

The college organizes an annual fest, ESPECTRO. The college has a huge library full of relevant books and journals. The classrooms are very big and huge. It's very spacious and you will love the campus. Extracurricular activities are very prevalent. You can play any sports that you want- Cricket, Football, or any other sport that you like.

The most honest and unbiased review of IIEST Shibpur

Placement Experience:

Students from 7th semester onwards are elegible for campus placements. Some of the companies that visits for placements are Google, microsoft, amazon, pwc, TI, accenture, PPEL, etc. A total of 920 recruiters were there which offered 753 offers to the students and out of them around 75-78% were placed. The highest placement package was offered by microsoft for 51 lpa as PPO to 14 students and the role was IDC. The average package is around 7.5 lpa. I am planning to appear in GATE exam and go for masters in IITs after completion of my degree where i will be persuing my further studies in transportation engineering.

Placement Experience:

From seventh semester onwards companies are coming to visit in our colleges . You will give exams in four phases that are coding , technical, aptitude and after qualifying all simple interview would be taken . Just develop your skills then surely you will get job . Highest package is about 10 lakh per annum and average is about 5 to 6 lakh per annum. The percentages of getting placed are about 60 to 70 percent . Just keep in mind that choose any language like c ++ , java , python and become pro into it . You will definitely get job .

Very appropriate college for all kind of students !! I recommend it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Tech in CSE is future proof and a very good course for IT sector jobs and I was always excited working in these companies, that's why I choose the course. There are 10-12 faculties present in every department. Each faculty is M.Tech qualified and Drs. Their teaching quality is very good. 4 internal theory and 2 Lab exams happen each semester. The questions are standard, regular, and sincere students can easily pass.

Remarks:

As seeing the college from outside i expected each room tobe AC but unfortunately it's not during the summer days it's pretty hot in the top floors but it's bearable canteen food items are cheap in respect to outside and wifi isn't free and I hate that.
