Remarks :
Overall, I found it survivable and a good start to my college life, I enjoyed being a part of Ashoka as I kept myself busy with everythiing be it sports, studies or activities I was there. I miss doing all that as now I just have my job and nothing else.
Entrance Preview :
I wanted to take the Ashoka aptitude test but they said it's not available right now, so I had to write an essay and I wrote it pretty well that they asked me to be the editor of the magazine they come up with every year, and then they conduct an interview which is just a formality as they have to take you anyway.
Course Curriculum Overview :
We had to write 20 long pages as a summary of the course books topics which were taught in the class. There are usually novels which you have to study like Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice; Charles Dickens Hard Times, Shakespeare's Othello etc.
Internships Opportunities :
No, the college does not offer any kind of internships to the students, and I think nor do they have any such thing in their curriculum.
Placement Experience :
Maybe there are placements for other courses that's why companies keep coming to the campus but not for English honors students as we have to study further and there aren't any opportunities for us to start a professional career. But you can always apply outside the campus or for entrepreneurship summits.
College Events :
People celebrate women's day but here at Ashoka we celebrate women's month which is a unique thing, also there are other events like Alumni meet, news discussion ; celebration of festivals. There are so many sports events and other extra curricular activities to encourage students to participate in all events and not just be a bookworm.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Fees is the only drawback here as they charge you 6,45,000 just as the tution fee plus 35,000 as registration and 50,000 as security deposit. You must be good at bargaining if you wish to pay less or just go for a scholarship which is open to all.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Talking about scholarships, yes, they offer so many scholarships to meritorious students and the criteria is pretty simple which is score a distinction and get scholarship and they have different amount of scholarships for different categories like 75% and above 50,000 ; 85%and above 70,000 and 95% above would be awarded a scholarship of 1,00,000.
Campus Life :
There were labs for computer science, they are enabled with the latest technology. For medical facilities, Ashoka University has its own hospital with emergency ambulance service 24*7 available. Talking about sports, it has fully maintained playgrounds. It depends upon the game you like and all the grounds differ with games you want to play.
Hostel Facilities :
Not many students studying here are from Sonepat so they do have a facility of hostel for which you have to pay two lacs including the meals. The food at the hostel is delicious and they do offer a variety but the rooms are fine not that good. View is not so good as outside is a non-residential area.
Alumni/Alumna :
Being an alumni myself and being associated with the alumni association I would just like to mention that the college does help in building a career but that's not the only thing, you must got to have structured pattern and dedication to study too so even if you think you are gonna mess up with this college then you just need to relax and focus on the good parts.
Exam Structure :
We have to appear for the exams which are conducted every year and there is an alternate exams in case you missed the exams. The syllabus is covered in the class, and the pattern is that we are given 5 one line questions which are to be answered in 30 pages per answer.
Faculty :
Faculties are genuine but there are two three of them who behave absurdly as they are partial and they just know to shout in the class without any reason to show their importance. I liked my HOD very much as she guided and supported me throughout.
