Remarks :

Through WBJEE, rank must be below 3000. The application form is through WBJEE counselling website and process. There are no reservations and it is a very smoothly conducted process. There are no separate application fees and it happens in June month.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I loved electrical engineering as a subject and wanted to work in Core Industries. Faculty-student ratio is like 1:5. Exams were conducted by WBUT (MAKAUT). Faculties were highly qualified and the curricula were rigorous. The course in MAKAUT (university) is very outdated and has little relevance to the job market.

Class Size : 60Course Fees : INR 320000 per year

Placement Experience :

Placements are from the 7th semester, around 10-15 companies come for placements. 80-90% of the batch gets placed and the package is like 4 lpa average. The highest package is like 10lpa. Most students go for MBA, MTech, govt jobs, or MS outside the country after Btech here.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

There is no scholarship as such and. Placements are in IT, and some happen in the core. Pooled campusing usually happens. It provided placements in IT companies with standard 3.5 LPA packages. As such the education is costly and would definitely not recommend a private college if one is financially one is not stable.

Campus Life :

There are no good sports facilities on Campus, and also amenities are not that up to the mark. Books and journals are not easily available for all students and our department was totally new at that point in time. Campus life is very dull, and it is not that happening. I would not rate the campus highly on this metric.

The most honest and unbiased review of IIEST Shibpur

Placement Experience:

Students from 7th semester onwards are elegible for campus placements. Some of the companies that visits for placements are Google, microsoft, amazon, pwc, TI, accenture, PPEL, etc. A total of 920 recruiters were there which offered 753 offers to the students and out of them around 75-78% were placed. The highest placement package was offered by microsoft for 51 lpa as PPO to 14 students and the role was IDC. The average package is around 7.5 lpa. I am planning to appear in GATE exam and go for masters in IITs after completion of my degree where i will be persuing my further studies in transportation engineering.

From seventh semester the students become eligible for campus placements. The companies visited are like TCS, Cognizant, infosys, mindtree and many others. The avg pkg is 6 lpa and highest is 12 lpa. 90 percent students gets placed.

Overall only one thing is important is about hardwork with smart work . You have to work on your skills rest college is there to help you to show the path from your college to carrier .

Placement Experience:

From seventh semester onwards companies are coming to visit in our colleges . You will give exams in four phases that are coding , technical, aptitude and after qualifying all simple interview would be taken . Just develop your skills then surely you will get job . Highest package is about 10 lakh per annum and average is about 5 to 6 lakh per annum. The percentages of getting placed are about 60 to 70 percent . Just keep in mind that choose any language like c ++ , java , python and become pro into it . You will definitely get job .

Very appropriate college for all kind of students !! I recommend it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Tech in CSE is future proof and a very good course for IT sector jobs and I was always excited working in these companies, that's why I choose the course. There are 10-12 faculties present in every department. Each faculty is M.Tech qualified and Drs. Their teaching quality is very good. 4 internal theory and 2 Lab exams happen each semester. The questions are standard, regular, and sincere students can easily pass.

One of the good colleges.

Remarks:

As seeing the college from outside i expected each room tobe AC but unfortunately it's not during the summer days it's pretty hot in the top floors but it's bearable canteen food items are cheap in respect to outside and wifi isn't free and I hate that.
