Remarks :
Anybody can write the entrance exam and I had to write an entrance exam for the college. The questions are pretty basic and general so it is very easy to pass the entrance test. However, the instructions can be made clearer. For example, I did not know that I was allowed to use pen and paper to make calculations until I asked the proctor specifically. I lost valuable time. There are no reservations or anything of that sort as far as I know. The interview process is also very simple. They ask very basic subject-based questions and there are three rounds. You don't have to stress about anything specifically. The cut-off marks for the test itself may be 60 percent. Once you pass, you will know you got through a message that will be sent by its admissions office scheduling for the interview. It's very easygoing and no need to fear excessively.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course because there are a lot of job opportunities in this field and I was advised by my seniors that any company will have job seats available for this type of course. The faculty to student ratio is something like 1: 80 and that is pretty bad if you are the type who requires more time to learn concepts. They usually have a curriculum that they try to finish and sometimes you may feel like you aren't learning anything. However all the teachers are well versed in multiple bodies of knowledge. The exams however are sort of messed up because you are always worrying abt Cia ands end semester exams. The grading also is unclear for some projects and is sort of subjective. They can be difficult to do well-meaning above 85 percent is impossible.
Internships Opportunities :
The internships are non-paying and they last over two months to a couple of weeks . If you do well then you can be guaranteed a job which will be your benefit. There are also credit courses to take which will strengthen your resume. It's inbuilt into the program. You will have to manage between the internship and your crowded studies. Theru also give lots of projects
Placement Experience :
You can apply for placements only in the last two semesters so that will be the 5 and 6th semester. But right from the start you get opportunity to start internships and take use of them. It will help you however there is always heavy heavy competition just for a couple of seats. Some companies that visit are EY, Gold men's Sachs, Deloitte, D Shaw and Shell, Exxon Mobil, etc. After the degree, it's advisable to work for a couple of years before completing a master's.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee is 80000 for the first year and for the second and third year, it falls down to 53000 rs. It is purely a rich people's college so it will be hard for poor families to pay the fees apart from the additional expenses like hostel, food, clothes, travel, entertainment, etc. If we pay attention to class then it is easy to study. It would be better if there was more focus on students. Since it is a big institution, they sometimes give 50 percent concession and most other times, it's 25 percent. Otherwise, the payment policy is pretty good and you will have to pay for the semester. before you actually start it.
Campus Life :
The campus is very green and it's always busy and bustling with many people. There are watchmen who stand there to destroy the games that you play. So there is a football field and a basketball field and volleyball field and a cricket pitch. You will be allowed to play in it only after 4: 00. There are lots of opportunities to make friends. There are so many clubs and you should be early and on the lookout to join these clubs right from the start. There's acting and dancing and sports clubs and food fests and fundraiser. Something is always happening on campus. Lots of diversity.
