Entrance Preview :
I took the CET in 2005 after my 12th board exams. The admission was centralised back then, and I had to fill out forms with preference ranks and ranks for engineering fields.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The courses are set by Pune University so it is as per standard. The course curriculum is standard and does not deviate. They try to introduce other soft skills into it, and some worked while some were a waste of time and energy to be honest. But the soft skills were mostly for other branches. They did not have those for Mech Engg.
Internships Opportunities :
The college did not provide internships when I attended and in fact Prof. Inamdar would consider it as something that would cut our attendance down. The prime focus of everything was attendance and nothing else.
Placement Experience :
The job opportunities are standard. They would invite mostly software companies and that was useless for core mechanical aspirants. All the good jobs for our branch were secured outside after graduation. I was disappointed at that time by the lax attitude.
College Events :
We used to have quite a few technical events and I was on the front of most. I would host, compere as well as participate in presentations. I was chosen by the professors as well to present in their project for national level techfests. We had a cultural fest called surbhi as well.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There was no loan of financial aid provided by the college. It was quite expensive to study there. Most students coming from humble backgrounds took education loans from banks outside.
Campus Life :
There were 4 girls in my class out of 72 boys. But later, the girls were decently represented. Other branches had a good number of girls. Students came from all over Maharashtra and all over from India, so it was a healthy mix of people. There were sports competitions once a year, and same with cultural fest.
Exam Structure :
Since we lived on the campus(residential college), it was not very hectic. We had 8-5 classes and that was good enough. We could finish assignments on time. We had unit tests periodically. That time only the semester exams at the end counted towards final marks.
Admission :
The admission was centralized back then, and I had to fill out forms with preference ranks and ranks for engineering fields. Then I got a call for the counselling session and we had to go in and pay the fee. We had a one-on-one with the vice-principal then.
Faculty :
The faculty was quite new at the time and we met challenges that are expected with inexperienced faculty. But we all grew together and by the 4th year, they were quite strong with the exception of few. They go according to the set curriculum and get the job done, I would say.
