Entrance Preview :
I took AIEEE examination in 1996. My AIEEE rank was 1162 . I opted for this college as it was 100% government controlled state engineering college.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Course contents & structures are appropriate, Can be little more practical & industry oriented, The overall program is aptly designed to provide complete overview of the subjects, The program has 8 semester with 6 subjects per semester. It also includes workshop & technical lab in relevant semester. Students are expected to complete 2 projects minor & major in final years.
Internships Opportunities :
On internship college had tie up with near by companies. Stipend was in tune of Rs 6000 per month but had to generally arranged by students themselves in near by industrial towns of Gurgaon , faridabad etc.
Placement Experience :
Placements were low in year 2000 due to economic recession , electronic & IT companies came for campus interviews & average package was Rs 5 lac per annum. Handful of students were picked from campus but the same has been significantly improved now.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
We had State Bank of India branch in the college campus. Not sure of Loan but meritorious students used to get scholarship from college. Meritorious students were awarded scholarship of Rs 600 per semester. I received the scholarship every semester.
Campus Life :
Campus life was cheerful. It was simple yet full of joy & excitement, We had small cafetaria between the college & hostel , It was crowded in the evening, Gender ratio was skewed with almost less than 10% female students but this is improving in recent times, Labs were good , sports facility was available.
Exam Structure :
We had total 8 semester spread over 4 years so average 2 semesters per year. We had 2 sessionals before main semester examinations. The labs took practical examinations.
Admission :
I got admission thru counselling held at REC Kurukshetra , The seat availability was manually controlled on the board. We reached the college in the morning & waited for our turn. I was getting several private college but opted for government college with chemical engineering as my stream, Which was later upgraded to Electrical & finally Mechanical after first year.
Faculty :
The college had well established labs with required technicians & staff. All applicable subject technical labs were available with due infrastructure. It is excellent college with affordable fee & due facility to ensure right grooming of the students.
