Remarks :
There was an entrance examination and then according to the rank students were called for the counseling process. After the students have selected their colleges they had to report to the respective college for document verification.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course was extensive and designed specially to cater to primary education. The course aims to build competent primary teachers who can bring innovation in the field of primary education. There was a ratio of 1:47 students in general but it varied according to the subject choices of the students. The faculty was well educated. Most of them were either Ph.D. or M.Phil or were pursuing the same. The curriculum paid well attention to formal assessments. There were assignments, projects, reports, etc., which counted for the internal marks and there was an annual examination for every paper. The exams were moderately difficult.
Internships Opportunities :
We were sent to government schools for internships as primary teachers. No stipend was provided. The aim to the internship was to get enough clarity on classroom scenarios and gain experience on how to handle different situations arising around the students. The projects involved were intensive and required extensive study and preparation and presentation.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees for this course in Mata Dundri College were more expensive than in other colleges. There is a placement cell but very few schools came when I was in college. There were no. of scholarships based on caste reservations and low incomes.
Campus Life :
There was a nice annual fest organized every year usually organized in the month of November. The college had a nice big library and had a large number of books available. Classrooms were entirely simple. There were few sports activities available but the course didn't give much scope to participate in them. There were western and gidda dance groups, kirtan, vocal and theater groups.
