Glance at NSUT

VC

Remarks :

I applied for Computer Science & Engineering both in DTU and NSUT. I didn't opt for the DTU in the end because of traveling issues as I didn't opt for a hostel either. My preference was to go for Artificial Intelligence in NSUT but unfortunately, I didn't get it.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course I am currently is actually CSDS(Computer Science & Engineering {Data SCience}). It was good to focus on a particular aspect of Computer Science therefore, I opted for this course. First-year was almost online therefore I would say the faculty is decent considering online teaching. First, sem exams were offline but the second sem was completely online. But exams especially during online classes we had tests and vivas almost every single week.

Internships Opportunities :

As far as I know, internship opportunities are provided to students in the third year. There are companies that visit and offer internships programs. I don't know about stipends offered by companies at all.

Placement Experience :

Unfortunately, we hardly attended offline classes therefore we don't go to campus really often. Therefore, I don't have an accurate idea of what real numbers are. I heard there are a lot of companies that visited campus this year for placements including top firms like Facebook, Uber, etc. Due to covid no one other than last year students were allowed to frequently visit campus.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

As I mentioned the first year was almost online but still, we paid regular fees and it was quite a huge sum of money. University never focussed on revising the current Fees structure, total negligence. You can apply for a scholarship under Delhi Govt. The scholarship scheme, University doesn't offer any scholarship from their end.

Campus Life :

Personally, We barely attended offline classes for 2 weeks during the end of the first semester. The campus is good and well maintained but I think that's something you should expect considering the fees structure. The library is quite normal-sized and you can access anything you want. The sports facilities are poor and totally unacceptable. Sadly, we don't have any gatherings due to Covid-19.

Placement Experience:

At IIITD students become eligible for internships after 2nd year. First sem students also get a chance to get internship from UNIQLO. The company takes some students from first sem and offer them stipends and a trip to tokyo. The percentage of placements is good at IIITD but it went down during recession. The highest package offered is 55lpa domestic and 120lpa overseas and the avg package is 20-25 lpa. Approx 70% students got placed in year 2024

Placement Experience:

5th semester students are eligible for internships and 7th semester students are eligible for placements( full time offers) Many bigtech companies like Google, Microsoft, Uber, Salesforce, Intuit etc visit our campus and hiring rate is not that bad, depends upon the company's budget and students' calibre. Average package of our college varies between 13 lakhs to 19 lakhs and most of the companies come for software developer roles. Didn't planned yet
