Entrance Preview :

I got placed in this college through single window counselling. I had scored good marks(1153/1200) in my 12th Board exams and my interest towards mechanics and automobile enabled me to opt for Mechanical course in Anna University.

Internships Opportunities :

Well, direct internship is offered by many companies during the 6th semester. Companies like Titan, Sundaram Clayton, Siemens and Whirlpool offered summer internships with a stipend of 10-15k rupees.

Placement Experience :

Anna University attracts huge industries since its one of the prestigious colleges in India that produces quality engineering graduates. Many high profile companies listed below visited our campus.

College Events :

CEG conducts the Kurukshetra - A national level technical symposium in which students from all over India take part. The Fest happens for 3-4 days with more than 10 workshops and many events and guest lectures from various high profile people. The attendance used to hit 30k people taking part on the whole.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure is very nominal, ranging from 4k-15k rupees per semester. They don't collect any hidden charges and they have made the entire fee payment system online to prevent last minute rush. The odd semester fees include the yearly library usage charges, Sports department charges and other maintenance charges.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Students with poor economic background can avail various scholarships like the STATE Government BC Quota scholarship of 15k per semester. There are also various scholarship schemes offered by the Alumni and also organisations like Vidhaigal- A CEG startup that sponsors the full time fee of 10-20 people per year.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel fee are also nominal here. In UG, four students will be asked to share a room for the first three years. On the fourth year, each student can avail a single room exclusively for them. PG students have a room exclusively for both years. The rooms are well maintained. The fee is also nominal at 10k-15k rupees per semester.

External Expense : Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Exam Structure :

We mostly had around 6 theory papers each semesters and not more than 3 practical lab papers. Since Anna University strictly follows the credit system to the teeth, we always had forenoon sessions filled with theory classes, resulting in most of our afternoon sessions to be free. Hence exams were never hectic on us as most of the syllabus would have been already tested in our internal examinations.

Faculty :

Well all the faculties I had ties with in my college are more inclined to research oriented learning than conventional book learning. They were far more accessible than my school teachers and this lead to productive projects by working under them. We even had the access to directly visit them in their office without any prior appointments. And they were also pillars for us when we were working internships with third parties.

Average college but a good place to study on your own

Placement Experience:

The campus placements start in the 7th semester. Due to the recession, there is a lot of backlash when it comes to placements. It has been quite poor for the last few years. But it depends on how the student is prepared for the competitive world.

Placement Experience:

Students who pursuing five and sixth semesters onwards are eligible to attend the placements and internship. Mostly the IT companies are visited frequently and core companies are low. The Highest package is 9LPA. The percentage of college placement is 78 percent. I planned to make higher studies after my degree.

Reality of Veltech

Placement Experience:

Placement is good for the CSE and IT departments. You can't expect placement if you belong to other departments, there is a placement for the other departments but very less. Campus placement starts in 3rd year itself. They have special classes for Aptitude skills and interview preparation GD and necessary preparations for job placement opportunities. 90% of students from CSE and IT get placed. The average package is 7.5 LPA you can expect a minimum of 3.5 LPA. If you are willing to go for higher studies you can contact the international relation office they have good relations with other universities abroad, they have students exchange programs, research scholarships etc if you are not planning to seat in placement. I plan for higher studies and research after my Btech.

Best place ever visited. My Sweet College.

Placement Experience:

The placements in my college is very good and top companies hire students across every branch with a good amount of package. At the end of 3rd year every student is elegible for the placements in college. About 20 to 25 companies visited for campus hiring and approximately 700 offers were given across the college from every branch. 60 percentage of students got placed in the campus hiring program. Highest package is 24 LPA and the aveyis 5LPA. My plan is to get into a good MNC company which is related to Aerospace technology.
