Home Away from Home.

Remarks :

Hi, I am Sachin Upreti. I am from Sant longwall institute of engineering and technology pursuing a BTech in CSE. I had applied for different NIT and GFTI and my jee rank was 59k so I didn't get cse in nit's, and in top GFTI's with this rank. But in the remaining colleges, I found SLIET as best because of their greenery, helping faculty and all. QUOTA- I had applied from the GEN EWS category. For this, your annual income must be less than 2 lakh per annum. And limited land area then you got 10 % relaxation. ADMISSION CRITERIA-- CSE ( gen ). 94+percentile. CSE(gen-ews). 93+percentile CSE( obc) 90+ percentile CSE(SC) 80+ percentile CSE(ST) 60+ percentile. There are no such criteria for min age ADMISSION PROCESS- After giving the JEE mains exam you have to apply for JOSSA Counselling through threw JOSSA portal once you got a seat after few weeks you got a mail from your respected college and you have to go with all the documents and luggage, for verification and then your new life Begins.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I choose CSE because I love with computers since my childhood, and this is also the most demanded sector nowadays. Talking about BTECH, there were around 60 faculties and students were around 1500. So faculty: teacher is 1:25 which is good and the plus point of this college. Teachers are well qualified some of them had degrees(PhD, MTech) from IIT's and NIT'S and some of them had studied from SLIET itself. Some Faculties are very supportive and dedicated for Student. But some of them does not take much interest in students. However, in our course faculties are GOOD.

Internships Opportunities :

Very rare internahips are provided by our college as I am from 2 nd year so I don't know much about that . Basically you have to applied for internships for your own , college will not provide you internships at all.

Placement Experience :

After the 7th semester, students become eligible for placements. Very few companies visit our college like TCS, INFOSYS, CAPGEMINI, Mahindra, COGNIZANT. The highest package of 7 LPA is offered in on campus placement And the lowest package of 1.6 LPA. if talking about off campus then this year it is around 23 LPA which is the highest ever in the history of SLIET. Very few students got placements who really worked hard during their academic years, hardly 10 -15 students get placed from the CSE batch. And 5-10 students from others branches. I want to get placements, if not then I will go for Competitive exams like GATE, BANK etc.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees structure of including hostel and mess is around 90k to 1lakh per year. Without a hostel, it will be around 68-70k. Which is very less as compared to private colleges. There were few scholarships provided by our college 1. tuition fees waiver Conditions- income less than 2lpa and jee rank should be high among all your batchmates. On this basis, very few students from particular batch avail of this scholarship. 2. poor student aid fund. Conditions: financially poor students( who do not avail of any Scholarship).

Campus Life :

madhuram is the annual fest of SLIET and is conducted between May to June, and techfest is conducted in aug mostly. There are a variety of books in our library which includes books related to general awareness, aptitude, comics, computer, maths, English and many more and a large hall with well furnished table and chair set up for studying. One can issue 3 books at a time. Classrooms are well furnished but are quite small as compared to strength during summer sometimes it will become very difficult to survive in class. As SLiET covered a huge area of 451 acres. And faculties had provided lots of equipment for students. So various sports are played there which includes Badminton, football, basketball, cricket, kabaddi, GOLF. There were lots of clubs like SSDC for programmers, ENDEVEAOUR for those who are interested in the study of robotics, INTERNWELL Club which has the motto of overall development of a student ( physically socially and mentally) and many more.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel rooms are quite good 3 seater rooms are provided to 1st,2nd,3rd year students which include 2 fans, 2 led bulbs and 3 beds and 3 almirahs. Single Seater rooms are for 4th year students In mess every morning you get parathe with either milk or butter, and at day and night, you got rice, Pulses, vegetable ( mostly includes potatoes ), chapatis. And a refreshment tea in the evening. Every weekend we are provided with desserts. Mostly you have to go to hostels because very few PG are located near our college as it is a REMOTE AREA. and hostel fees are also satisfied.

Placement Experience:

The placements of the college is good and differs in every course, the highest placement record is 45.5lpa which is going to be increased the number if companies visiting is also increasing which increases the number of placements and the average package is 8lpa. If I can't get a on campus placement then I will try for off campus placement. Students of final year of their course will be eligible for the placements if they fulfill the company putted criterias. As college promised the 100% placement but it is not right only some students were getting placed who have some extra skills and knowledge Various companies visited the college every year like Autodesk, Cisco, XPERI, Toki, Accenture, Edoofa, delta x, RT camp etc and provides a good number of placements

Placement Experience:

so every year different companies visit our campus and people from the fourth year are able to see for the placement. Firstly, we have to clear a written entrance test once clear that the company will interview them and get the job so the highest package last year went 25,00,00 per annum. However, the average package is six lakh per annum. It completely depends upon your CGPA and your personal skills, how much you groom yourself to be fit for that company. Tech and non-tech companies both visit.

Placement Experience:

If we have skills, we get placements here, and if we work hard, we can get up to 50 LPA. Most of the renowned companies will come for placements, for example, Microsoft, Google, etc. TCS will give a high number of job offers, but the package is low. It all depends on you and your skills. The placement percentage in Computer Science is about 80-90%, and the average is 7 LPA.

Placement Experience:

CT University has best placement record till now. They have 400+ recruitment partners. Companies like byjus, paytm, infosys, max healthcare and capgemini have already recruited students from CT University. CTU also have corporate resource centre in ct university , to provide ample opportunities for full time internships, on job trainings and placement in reputed companies. Also, students are doing internships with stipends within the university also as CTU ambassadors along wwith theirt study, so this should be a good enough proof of the quality of the skills being imparted to the students.

The placements are good. A lot of companies like PayTm, Maruti Suzuki, etc come every year and recruit a large number of students. The placement process is of several rounds and tests. There is an Entrepreneur Cell that helps students enhance their skills.
