Remarks :
I applied for B.tech Program in Mechanical Stream with Global Institutes based on my Diploma Scores where I had acquired 65% and got the lateral entry in the second year (3rd Semester). No, I didn't avail of the quota. The minimum eligibility mark to get into this program was 60% in your 12th PCM or equivalent program and the minimum age eligibility criteria were 20 yrs. The admission process was very smooth for me since I got passed with 1st Division marks from the technical program so I had to take one general PI and I cracked it very easily.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I did my diploma in Mechanical Engineering since Mechanical is the mother branch of engineering so I again opted for Mechanical stream in my B.tech program so I can continue my further studies in the same branch. The faculty was really helpful and quite experienced since most of them were pursuing their P.hds. College was conducting Mid semester term exams twice in between the Semester and then one final exam was being conducted by the Institute.
Internships Opportunities :
No, we didn't get any internship opportunities in Mechanical Stream from my college. I had applied for the internships on my own and hence completed the projects on my own.
Placement Experience :
We were allowed to sit in our Placement drives from our 7th Semester onwards. In my time almost 10 companies visited our campus and Byjus was the one of them which wasn't popular at that time but indeed it was more than early-stage startup that time as well. The average package was INR 400000 and the Highest package offered was INR 800000 in my college time.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
In my era, there were no such fee hikes. There were some Financial aids were being provided to the students who hail from Lower Cast/Financial Weak Families of the society. Furthermore, Scholarships were also provided to the student who achieved more than 80% in their High School. I got an opportunity to sit in 3 interviews and got selected in all of three with them but I chose Byjus and joined them back in October 2015.
Campus Life :
Initially, our life was just bounded to class since we didn't use to get much time for other extracurricular activities but later on they started giving us some time to participate in other extracurricular activities. We had a very chill life at Campus and got an opportunity to involve me in various cultural and technical fests. We used to conduct the Fest by the name of UDAAN.
Interview Experience :
Yes, I attended the PI round. Admission Criteria were very smooth since I cleared my diploma with first division grade. I did my all studies in KV school so there I used to participate in EXTEMPORE so which really helped me to improve my Communication Skills and that really helped in my PI round of admission.
