The Archi Life at SAP

Remarks :

Registered for TNEA and attended the counselling where I got admission into the college. The eligibility criteria in 2016 were to clear the NATA exam and have a score. The score is calculated by taking 50% of NATA score and 50% of Class 12 marks, based on which ranks would be made available. Based on the ranks, counselling days are allocated and seats are filled.

Course Curriculum Overview :

1. Chose this course for the creativity that is involved 2. The faculty student ratio was accurate having 1 faculty for every 40 students 3. The qualification of the faculty is not up to the mark as most of them do not have actual field experience. 4. Exams were conducted on time, but due to the pandemic, there are some postponements. The difficulty level was moderate

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

1. Since it is a govt college, not many fees are involved. Around 8000 rupees per semester for the general category and 16000 per semester for self financing category. 2. All national scholarship schemes are applicable. Minority scholarships, First graduate scholarships etc were applicable. No campus placement

Campus Life :

1. Diwali bash, Cul de sap, ZONASA fests 2. Most of the architecture related books are available in the SAP library. One of the best 3. Drafting tables 4. Not much importance to sports 5. Photography club Nizhal, Rotract club, coffee club

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our course curriculum very good and also our faculty teachings methods and then difficulty was most of unit tests conduct next day after the every exam. My suggestion area for improvements in the course curriculum and teaching method was they give only less time for project submission

Course Curriculum Overview:

My passion for design was started during my school, then I cleared my NATA exam and joined in CRESCENT SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE. The faculties are more approachable and friendly, they will clear our doubts and gave us more exposure to practical knowledge also. That really helped us during our field practice.

Placement Experience:

Architecture field doesn't depend on on-campus placement usually but we did have an internship semester which was a forerunner. Since several great architects were invited to be a part of the panel for our intermediate reviews and viva voce examination we were able to gain contacts. Those experience helped us during the process of seeking employment after graduation.

We have good infrastructure and faculties to teach us. Proper classrooms for theory subjects and studio subjects with projector facility is provided by the college. Due to strict management, we have to wait for a while to get our needs.

Entrance Preview:

NATA, I chose this because i thought that the course is only drawings. But i found out that architecture is not only abt free hand sketches but much more.

Placement Experience:

Either a B.Arch student can work as a junior / senior architect in a firm or put up his own firm or become a professor in some college. There is no campus interview in this course.
