Remarks :
I graduated from SVCE this year, I belong to the 2017-2021 batch. The college is very reliable in terms of academics and is oriented towards providing quality education. To add to this, the staff is supportive of new ideas and encourages participation in hackathons, technical and cultural events. Overall, the environment is very productive.
Course Curriculum Overview :
1:45 is the faculty to student ratio. The teaching methodology adopted is good. There are 3 internal assessments per semester. Most of the teachers are B.E graduates and some post-graduates. I chose this course because I am inclined towards engineering.
Internships Opportunities :
Hawx Media - Web/Android developer - Performance-based stipend, mostly had to work around client projects and development of APIs and android based mobile applications. The team was fun to work with and it was a cooperative atmosphere.
Placement Experience :
Students are eligible for placements from the sixth semester onwards. A lot of mass recruitment companies' drives are supported through the placement cell, the number of opportunities provided is also pretty good. The highest package this year, has been about 13 LPA and the average is 4 LPA. About more than half the students get placed every year.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
It cost me around 81,500 per year without a transportation fee through the KCET counselling. There was a hike in the fee from year 1 to year 4 and, I did not get any scholarship or financial assistance through college.
Campus Life :
There are two fests - Udyukta (the technical fest) and Kalavaibhava (The cultural fest ). Udyukta is conducted every year, whereas Kalavibhava is conducted only once in two years. There are plenty of textbooks available in the library. Classrooms are tidy and well-maintained, however, the washrooms could be better maintained. There is a sports day conducted once a year and there are different student chapters/clubs on campus. There is a Google Developers Student Club and HackClub.
