Mayank Vasandani's Review On Alwar Institute Of Engineering And Technology - [AIET], Alwar

Entrance Preview :

I took AIEEE, My score was 81.2%, This college was nearest to New Delhi that is why I opted for this college.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Curriculum was fine but a little old. For example some concepts of programming languages were pretty old and had been replaced by better and new technologies. This is one part that could have been changed over the course or time. Rest everything was fine and courses were great.

Internships Opportunities :

No, my college did not provide any kind of Internship. We had to find work ourselves. Mostly in Delhi or Jaipur.

Placement Experience :

The college has a 50 % hit rate or placements. But recently only Call Centres are coming for recruiting. For some example, big companies that come are, TCS, Infosys and Accenture. After them Wipro BPO, and other call centres come. But most students go for Masters further.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Scholar ships and loans were only for category kids (For ex: SC, ST, OBC) Their college fees was also very. Their yearly fees was not more than 10000.

Exam Structure :

We have 4 sets of exams every semester. First we have assessment test level 1, to check our progress. Then mid semester exams are there, after that 1 more assessment happens. After that we are given complete vacation until start of University exams which last 2 weeks to 3 weeks.

Admission :

Admission process was lengthy and onerous. There was a huge line for admissions, and multiple forms were asked for us to be filled. Almost 15 different forms for 15 different counters. Plus course selection was a trouble as we had to make a decision in an instant. As it was a pool admission for 2 colleges it was hard to decide which college and which course to take.

Faculty :

Faculty was OK. But could have been much better with more involved mature and knowledgeable teachers who can interact with students at a friendly level to understand the issues and work with them to teach them more effectively. There should have been more interaction and more involvement of teachers with students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Food is a vast subject and people will not stop eating, so the scope of food technology is just amazing. The college has its own faculty for different subjects. This btech course is of 4 years ie 8 semesters. Each semester has midterms and final semester exams. Last semester is for an internship. Midterms are of 20 marks, practical of 30 marks and final semester theory exams of 50 marks, so passing the exam is damn easy. Regular classes with good faculties make this course easy.

Placement Experience:

There are a lot of companies in our college very much are tech companies but there are branch specific companies also. The placement department is working very hard for each person's good placement. There are 70-80% chances that you will get placed conditionally if you have the right skills and knowledge required there.

Placement Experience:

A good type of companies like Google, Microsoft, Apple, etc offer internships two together off-campus and on-school grounds where there exist many assistant roles ready for use to enhance our ability and get ready for future placements. We also disturb do a variety of projects to embellish our skills. Out of it, 60-70% of students get placed. My plan after getting a degree is to start up my own startup. College also supports new startup plans.

Placement Experience:

Our campuses placement scenario has been positive with a 100% placement rate. Around 2 months before the placement session, the placement cell of our college contact recruiters after which through the job announcement form, all the companies provide our necessary data. Most importantly, everyone needs to know that the placement session occurs twice a year i.e. between January to April and August to November. Above all, the highest package offered in the previous year was 45 LPA and that as an average package 7-8 L was witnessed. Also, since our college offers summer internships.
