Entrance Preview :

UNIVERSITY entrance exam for professional course. It is the largest university in kerala and as I got a good rank to secure a seat there it was a wonder full opportunity so there was no second thought.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Calicut university curriculum is most followed one all over kerala. Infact it is a bit tough to secure good scores.It gives the value for each point that we get. As every where the course studied is of 6 semesters and each sem curriculum is designed carefully so that the flow makes the student to meet the competitive world.

Internships Opportunities :

College provide internship for research scholars and the students from out side countries under govt of india policies. General stipend for research scholars ranges from 15k to 20k.

Placement Experience :

Compared to other self financing colleges this university is having very less campus placements. Since the only professional courses in the campus is MCA and MBA there will be only less number of students passing out every year and that makes the companies to keep back coming to the campus.

College Events :

Campus consists of large number of events technical and cultural as well. The main event conducted by our department is Insight and is a two day events consisting of various technical and cultural programs. Students get chance to meet with various company experienced guys who share their experience in IT field.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Some public sector banks are there that provide loan college doesn't provide any loan directly.If needed they will help to sort out any issues with bank.

Exam Structure :

Exam structure is pretty good.Each semester is having six papers among them one is lab. Lab is well equipied with all facilities and exams are always easy to attend here. Question papers always follows a common structure of that of previous years and it makes students to meet exams without any fear.

Faculty :

University have got a large number of doctorate people and the department there is too a research centre. So the faculties that we get there is of good track record. Even some subjects are dealed with guest lectures the senior staff are always ready to help us if we have any doubts.

Nirmala College Muvattupuzha - A Good Campus

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choosed MCA at Nirmala College due to several reasons: • It is a course which is open to anyone who has passed any bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% and above. The only prerequisite is that one need to attend the annual LBS MCA entrance examination to secure admission to this course. • The syllabus of MCA in this college is affiliated with that of MG University, Kottayam. It is a vast syllabus covering various applications of computer science including programming in various languages such as C, Java, PHP, Python, data structures, algorithms, statistics, data mining, machine learning, software engineering, networking, etc. • The course is theoretically good but practically it doesn't really equip all students with enough knowledge and understanding to be placed in a good IT company. Some portions could be excluded from various theory subjects such as Networking with TCp/Ip and Algorithms Analysis.

From 3rd the semester placements take place but basically, it is very low in our college only 20-30 % of students are getting placed. only a very small no of companies are coming to the placement. Availability of jobs is still in doubt
