Entrance Preview :
GATE-2013 Qualified, Central University Common Entrance Test, CUCET-2013. Central University of Gujarat now has its own National Entrance examination which is advertised in all major national newspapers in the month of May, every Year. Qualifying a national entrance exam increase the chance of selection during the one round of Interview which is mostly for aspirants scoring 50% or more in the entrance test.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes, a monthly stipend of Rs 5000 is provide for 18 months during Course work and M.Phil. While Rs 8000 is provided to students directly enrolling to PhD programme after course work or after M.Phil for a period of 4 years and 3 and a half Years respectively.
Placement Experience :
Students are mostly placed as Post doctoral fellow in United states of America and India after their PhD award. Some are employed as assistant professors elsewhere. Post doctoral fellows in US receive about $4000 per month in United states of America and Rs35000/- per month in India. Assistant professors earn about Rs 50000/- per month.
College Events :
Various cultural events are celebrated in the university and the School of Life sciences. Science day is celebrated very promptly every year. Freshers day is of main attraction in each school to socialise with the freshers. Foundation days are celebrated with various sports and cultural activities in the university across all schools.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fees are feasible. the first or summer semester fees cost about Rs 4500/- while the second or winter semester cost about Rs 1350/- for both M.Phil and PhD. M.sc course id also open which cost about Rs 1250/- per semester.
Campus Life :
Campus life is vibrant, with two campus for science and social sciences which is also a smart campus enabled with wifi and digital libraries. University strives to keep a good gender ratio in all the schools. Students form every state can be found in the campus except for a few union territories, infact there are more students from other states than from Gujarat in School of Life Sciences and other schools.
Exam Structure :
Examinations are conducted twice a semester as a Mid semester examination and semester examination during the course work and students are graded int he scale of 9. After the course work, students have to submit progress report of their lab activities every month. Lab hours are from 9 am to 7pm, sunday closed. CCTV cameras are installed throughout the Labs to monitor student activities.
Faculty :
The Faculties are qualified in their area of research. There are four permanent faculties with focus in the area of Immunology, biochemistry, Nano technology, Animal physiology. All faculties except the Dean have enormous interest in research and support students in all possible research.
