Review for a fresher

Remarks :

I had gotten a rank of around 29000 in KCET. This college was on the top of my list of the colleges applied to. I got this college in the first round itself. I was even lucky enough to get the admission under SNQ quota. After I got the admission order copy online through the KCET website after paying the tuition fees of 4090 Rs, I visited the college the next day. There were some forms to be filled out and the development and college fees of 35000 to be paid. The counsellor briefed us about the college details and we were done.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The exams are conducted as per the VTU schedule. There will be a gap of about a month between all 3 internals each semester. The internals is easy to score if can readjust the assignments. The semester exam is what makes it difficult since it's from VTU.

Internships Opportunities :

Usually, many companies first hire students for internships before giving them full-time job roles. The internship totally depends on the individual performance and mainly on their mini projects done.

Placement Experience :

The placements is one of the best parts of this college. Since it's attached with the main campus, the placements opportunities are many. Especially if you're in IT field, the placements are numerous. Although the placement opportunities for core courses is little since the core companies do not visit the campus very often. You should have an aggregate of 6.5 cgpa or more and no active backlogs for campus placements.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I had gotten an E-Pass scholarship from the state government, which most of the students will get. The placements are good since it's attached with the main campus especially if you're into IT field. I was placed in a service-based company with a CTC of 3.6 lakhs per annum.

Campus Life :

There are numerous social media handles created and maintained by the students on campus. The ones related to cultural and college fests are pretty active. The annual fests are usually conducted in the month of April. The campus comes with an outdoor basketball court. The rest of the sports are indoors since there isn't much space available at the campus. The classrooms are equipped with fans and a projector.

Hostel Facilities :

There are two types of rooms provided, one with the normal beds and the other with the bunk beds. Go for the normal one. Hostel food quality is good, they even provide few snacks. The registration for the hostel can be done on the same day of the admission, it's filled on a first come first serve basis. The surroundings are filled with PG's both for men and women. Even there are plenty of individual houses available for rent. There's a Brigade apartment nearby with many amenities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.

Remarks:

Well it was a emerging glorious institution, so I chose it. Also it has good facilities with good experience of atleast 10 years in the field of education. The infrastructure of my university is excellent. It has all the facilities needed for the overall development of a student. Although it us situated little of the city, it is totally worth the travel.
