Worth studying university

Remarks :

I haven't applied anywhere. Because Pondicherry university was the first university I qualified in the entrance. I haven't used any quota for my admission. There was an all India entrance examination conducted by the university itself. The admission process was really nice. All the staffs and faculties were really helpful on admission day.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I had a lot of interest in physics so I wanted to do higher studies on it. Every faculty is highly educated and have a lot of experience in a teaching career. The faculty to student ratio is like 1:35. There are 3 exams per paper in sem. In one semester an AVG of 5 papers we give. In total 15 exams per semester including internal and end semester.

Internships Opportunities :

For the internship, the university and faculties of the department back a lot. They help in choosing and finding reputed institutions for doing internships during vacation. And many projects also undergoes in the department. We also do some project work last semester.

Placement Experience :

Some academic institutions come to hire from my departments like venper academy and others like byjus and unacademy conducts online interviews. But students from our department generally prefer higher studies than jobs. I plan to give the civil service exam after my degree.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The cost of study in Pondicherry university is like they take around 30 thousand for the first year which includes the admission fees and hostel fees. Similarly, for the second year, they take admission fees around 9000 and hostel fees around 18000. The price was a bit high but it was affordable. University provides its own fellowship to the meritious students in semester exams

Campus Life :

Each year in march the departments and university conduct functions. Library is just fantastic. They consists of each varieties of books and journals. Class room is too good. I am not involved in sports activities so don't know a lot about it. Students from each state show their cultural activities at end of each year and it's like a great fest and bliss to watch Diversity of Indian culture.

Hostel Facilities :

A room for 3 people. 3 beds 2 tables 2 cupboards 2 fans 2 tube lights are there in the room. The area is ok. Meals are too good for South Indian students not for the students coming from North India. The admission process in hostels was so simple and the cost is also affordable. They charge around 65 per day and provide 3 meals per day. One can find rooms in kalapet

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum consists of 19 subjects divided over 4.5 years. Often what happens for clinical subjects is we have super specialty faculties take classes for us. For example, neurosurgery classes are taken by a neurosurgeon instead of a general surgery faculty. Apart from that, many famous medical authors like Dr. Apurb Sastry and Dr. G K Pal are in our faculties. Our faculties have been sent as directors on deputation to other peripheral AIIMS as well. The facilities we get at JIPMER are hard to find anywhere else. University and Sendup exams are held at the end of the year with internals, formative assessments and ward leavings held regularly. Exams are quite difficult actually but the quality of training is sufficient for students to be able to pass them.

Remarks:

The UNIVERSITY is best for Chemistry that attracted me the most. All other departments are very good also. The Chemistry department contains very good faculties with good research background. The department attracted me most as my aim was a career in research. Also I heard from my seniors that students easily get qualified in Csir net. So I opted for the course in Chemistry

Placement Experience:

The students in my department prefer higher studies than working. However several companies like SRF limited, Chegg india limited, have taken students for job.there is a placement cell through which students are informed about the campus. There is every year an alumini meet being organized by ex students.
