Entrance Preview :

WBJEE, RANK 3329 This college is the best( no. - 1) college of West Bengal as a private B-Tech engineering college approved by AICTE and affiliations WBUT(MAKAUT). The Institute is ranked among the top 100 colleges in India.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The ECE department at IEM has been setting exemplary standards since its inception and is well on course to continue the tradition for years to come.The department puts strong emphasis on imparting practical education by carefully administering proper lab work to complement their theoretical knowledge.

Internships Opportunities :

Students are exposed to Summer and Winter Internship Programs in Industries for a duration of one to two months. In this program, our students work in different industries to get ‘hands on’ experience before they finally step into the world of employment.

Placement Experience :

There are some mass recruiters like Cognizant and TCS which pretty much recruits a lot of students from IEM. The campus placements encourage companies like TCS, CTS , Infosys, ITC Infotech, WIPRO on a regular basis. Placement opportunities are restricted to a very few companies.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The course fee(per semester) for 1st year-37500. 2nd year-38000. 3rd year-39000. 4th year-40000. The fee in compared to other private colleges in different states is quite affordable. College fee is standard and loans are pretty easy to avail. Scholarships are offered based on exams. It would be nice to collaborate with external scholarship opportunities.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

As the fee in compared to other private colleges in different states is quite affordable . Loans are happily accepted by this college and you can go through the bank like SBI,OVERSEAS, IDBI. Scholarship are available for bengal student under government skim of TFW. Around 30% to 40% of total strength get scholarships.

Exam Structure :

Exams in IEM are very frequent.There are two mid sem before the semester exam. There we student get a lot of homework. We also get practicals which we have to do in singles and the project work we have to perform in group. The faculty helps students in performing practicals and experiments.They are checked very frequently. The mid semester results are published after 1 week of exam and put on the notice board.

The most honest and unbiased review of IIEST Shibpur

Placement Experience:

Students from 7th semester onwards are elegible for campus placements. Some of the companies that visits for placements are Google, microsoft, amazon, pwc, TI, accenture, PPEL, etc. A total of 920 recruiters were there which offered 753 offers to the students and out of them around 75-78% were placed. The highest placement package was offered by microsoft for 51 lpa as PPO to 14 students and the role was IDC. The average package is around 7.5 lpa. I am planning to appear in GATE exam and go for masters in IITs after completion of my degree where i will be persuing my further studies in transportation engineering.

Overall only one thing is important is about hardwork with smart work . You have to work on your skills rest college is there to help you to show the path from your college to carrier .

Placement Experience:

From seventh semester onwards companies are coming to visit in our colleges . You will give exams in four phases that are coding , technical, aptitude and after qualifying all simple interview would be taken . Just develop your skills then surely you will get job . Highest package is about 10 lakh per annum and average is about 5 to 6 lakh per annum. The percentages of getting placed are about 60 to 70 percent . Just keep in mind that choose any language like c ++ , java , python and become pro into it . You will definitely get job .

Very appropriate college for all kind of students !! I recommend it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Tech in CSE is future proof and a very good course for IT sector jobs and I was always excited working in these companies, that's why I choose the course. There are 10-12 faculties present in every department. Each faculty is M.Tech qualified and Drs. Their teaching quality is very good. 4 internal theory and 2 Lab exams happen each semester. The questions are standard, regular, and sincere students can easily pass.

Remarks:

As seeing the college from outside i expected each room tobe AC but unfortunately it's not during the summer days it's pretty hot in the top floors but it's bearable canteen food items are cheap in respect to outside and wifi isn't free and I hate that.
