Remarks :
I only applied for the BGU and luckily got selected too. I chose this institute because a lot of my seniors who are almost 3-4 years elder than me were a part of this university. They suggested to me about the great placement, the great infrastructure that the college has obtained and built up in such a small amount of time. I enquired a lot of people about the college earlier and I've never heard any student, who even isn't a part of the BGU, declining the fact that the BGU is the right decision. For the course I was interested in taking, a minimum of 64% was required. I scored 72% so I got in. Also, the age criteria held from 17 years old, and I was 17 when I joined. Since I took admission amidst the pandemic, I got only a call. I was asked general questions just to get checked off my level of understanding and knowledge for the field I've opted for. A few days after the call, I received an email that said I've gotten in.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I'm specifically interested in the Media line. I have good communication skills too. Journalism and the Editorial head of any huge media company are what I actually want to be. Hence, I got into the BAJMC course. We've got 4-5 teachers every semester who dedicatedly manage all 30 students in our batch. It's surprising how the faculty has so effectively given their time and dedication to pouring knowledge and yet made it fun for us even in online mode. The teaching methods are really great. We get assignments that are really fun and which involves self-creativity. Exams were timed perfectly. If you're a student who attends every class and listens carefully to the teachers or even reads up all the notes given during class, passing isn't too difficult. I score 9 CGPA in the 1st semester without any external help and just through the means of studying and paying attention in the class.
Internships Opportunities :
The first Intership I was provided was from a media company Trending India tied up with Swami Vivekananda Foundation, I worked as a news writer for Crime news for about 3 months. Second, was a company called YOUTH ODISHA foundation. I worked as a marketing intern for a month and later got promoted as a General Secretary for the next 2 months. My tenure of 3 months was completed so I left the job because my 1 st semesters' final exams were approaching. The third, was a media house company, THE CONSEQUENTIALS. I worked there for 2.5 months, and I worked in the media creation department where I had to create content every day by making a video of the top headlines per day.
Placement Experience :
For getting placements, I need to atleast reach the end of the 3rd year of my college. I've just started my 2nd year now. However, my seniors, have perfectly gotten good placements at really fine places. To date, I've done atleast 3 internships in my 1st year of colllege, all provided by BGU. A good number of students are really brilliant and talented and hence the percentage of students getting well-placed crosses a really fine line.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure of my course is 4 lacs. I guess it's better than the fee structure in a lot of other colleges. Given the education, the facilities, the placements and the internships that the college has been providing us since the first year of getting in, 4 lacs is completely worth it.
Campus Life :
I have joined the college amidst the pandemic so I don't know much about the events or fests that were conducted in the past. One thing I've known, the BGU library is very well known and beautiful for its infrastructure and even the collection of a wide range of books. There is a RADIO BGU club that I'm a part of. I'm also a part of the Cultural Club of BGU. And there's a lot more, including sports.
