Remarks :

Pretty easy got the college from WBJEE counseling rounds. The process wasn't complex and the office guided us on what steps to follow and completed it all in a day by just carrying all my documents with me.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I had CS as a subject since school and so I was focused in enrolling in some courses related to CS. The faculty is friendly and well qualified. Each class has a designated mentor making communications easier. We have labs often to enforce theory lectures. Need to work sincerely to do well in exams, but it's not too hard, just paying attention to class and studying before exams worked for me.

Class Size : 70Course Fees : INR 400000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

Most internships are earned from off-campus sites. College tries to arrange internships for final year students. But still, we get to work on various projects under teachers for research and journal publications. We also worked on various projects for the curriculum as well as external events.

Placement Experience :

Haven't had our placements yet. We are going through pre-placement training by our college and scouting internship opportunities brought forth by our training and placement cell. But, I know a lot of seniors who got placed into nice companies. TCS, Cognizant, Mind Tree, HighRadius, Cape Gemini, Tech Mahindra being top recruiters.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure is 40k each semester and the exam registration fees during exams. I didn't avail any scholarships or financial assistance. But scholarships and assistance were given to candidates who needed it.

Campus Life :

The library is very well equipped with a good ambiance. The labs and classes have good infrastructure. Every year we have two broad fests, Tesseract being the Tech fest. But there are lots of inter-department events organized throughout. There are student clubs but not too prominent, one area where I would love improvement. The campus is awesome and has big grounds. The time spent with the people I met here was amazing and memorable.

The most honest and unbiased review of IIEST Shibpur

Placement Experience:

Students from 7th semester onwards are elegible for campus placements. Some of the companies that visits for placements are Google, microsoft, amazon, pwc, TI, accenture, PPEL, etc. A total of 920 recruiters were there which offered 753 offers to the students and out of them around 75-78% were placed. The highest placement package was offered by microsoft for 51 lpa as PPO to 14 students and the role was IDC. The average package is around 7.5 lpa. I am planning to appear in GATE exam and go for masters in IITs after completion of my degree where i will be persuing my further studies in transportation engineering.

Overall only one thing is important is about hardwork with smart work . You have to work on your skills rest college is there to help you to show the path from your college to carrier .

Placement Experience:

From seventh semester onwards companies are coming to visit in our colleges . You will give exams in four phases that are coding , technical, aptitude and after qualifying all simple interview would be taken . Just develop your skills then surely you will get job . Highest package is about 10 lakh per annum and average is about 5 to 6 lakh per annum. The percentages of getting placed are about 60 to 70 percent . Just keep in mind that choose any language like c ++ , java , python and become pro into it . You will definitely get job .

Very appropriate college for all kind of students !! I recommend it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Tech in CSE is future proof and a very good course for IT sector jobs and I was always excited working in these companies, that's why I choose the course. There are 10-12 faculties present in every department. Each faculty is M.Tech qualified and Drs. Their teaching quality is very good. 4 internal theory and 2 Lab exams happen each semester. The questions are standard, regular, and sincere students can easily pass.

One of the good colleges.

Remarks:

As seeing the college from outside i expected each room tobe AC but unfortunately it's not during the summer days it's pretty hot in the top floors but it's bearable canteen food items are cheap in respect to outside and wifi isn't free and I hate that.
