Remarks :

The Engineering counselling was online but the verification of certificates will be offline. As counselling was online So it was quite easy to select the colleges. I have applied for 3 colleges and got selected in Panimalar Engineering College. I have been selected under Government Quota so I have paid only the tuition, bus and mess fees. Moreover, The admission criteria are based on marks that are the cutoff. The minimum cut off is 160 marks for counselling and the Management quota, the admission procedure totally differs.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose Information Technology. My ambition is to become a software Engineer and the Information technology course is completely based on software. So I chose the Information technology course. The total number of students is about 60 in a class. All teachers are highly qualified and a PhD degree would be the must option for every professor to work in the college. The teaching method is mostly theoretical whereas, in the lab, students will have exposure to real time projects and activities. Exams will occur often for every semester there will be 4 major exams like Internal and model.

Internships Opportunities :

Some companies like Adobe recruits students for internship in 2nd year itself. Moreover, students work for getting placed and get a job in companies instead of attending internships. The roles offered for the Internship would be under web development, app development, web design and testing apps for freshers.

Placement Experience :

For the 3rd year itself, some students get placed. Placements totally depend on the hard work of the students. Companies like TCS, Infosys, CTS are more likely to visit and there are some other companies too. The highest package salary is about 12 LPA and the average salary is about 3.5 lpa.96% of students get placed every year in Information technology. I plan to pursue a Masters degree abroad.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees structure differs based on whether the students come from Government Quota or Management quota. For Government Quota the fees is about 1,25,000 including bus and mess and for Management quota the fees is around 1,50,000 including bus and mess. The hostel fees is around 1,00,000(This is only for the students who wants to stay in hostel). Scholarship is available for the students who score good marks and come from Government Quota. The campus placements starts when the students are in 3rd year itself. The highest package where the students got placed is about 12 lpa.

Campus Life :

Talking about the fest, there will be a college day once a year and that will be extremely good where many students wait for that day. The Technology fest usually occurs once in 2 months. The library would be very useful for every student. There are many books &. Journals in the library. Extracurricular activities or sports events will not occur in the college. Only the students from the sports quota are allowed to play on the campus.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements start in the 7th semester. Due to the recession, there is a lot of backlash when it comes to placements. It has been quite poor for the last few years. But it depends on how the student is prepared for the competitive world.

Placement Experience:

Placement is good for the CSE and IT departments. You can't expect placement if you belong to other departments, there is a placement for the other departments but very less. Campus placement starts in 3rd year itself. They have special classes for Aptitude skills and interview preparation GD and necessary preparations for job placement opportunities. 90% of students from CSE and IT get placed. The average package is 7.5 LPA you can expect a minimum of 3.5 LPA. If you are willing to go for higher studies you can contact the international relation office they have good relations with other universities abroad, they have students exchange programs, research scholarships etc if you are not planning to seat in placement. I plan for higher studies and research after my Btech.

The placements in my college is very good and top companies hire students across every branch with a good amount of package. At the end of 3rd year every student is elegible for the placements in college. About 20 to 25 companies visited for campus hiring and approximately 700 offers were given across the college from every branch. 60 percentage of students got placed in the campus hiring program. Highest package is 24 LPA and the aveyis 5LPA. My plan is to get into a good MNC company which is related to Aerospace technology.
