My college experience

Remarks :

I got admission to Seth Jai Prakash polytechnic damla Yamunanagar on the basis of state counseling. I selected govt polytechnic Ambala as well as govt polytechnic nilokheri but got the seat in this college. I opted for a diploma in mechanical engineering. The faculty is good. Infrastructure is also good. But there are no extracurricular activities as I was expecting.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I opted for mechanical engineering because i was curious about the cars and automobile sectors. My batch is of 120 students divided into two sections each of 60 students in it. The faculty was good. The teaching methods of faculty were nothing much different, they teach us on the blackboard. Exams' difficulty levels are pretty average. If you have studied well you can easily score good marks

Internships Opportunities :

If i talk about internships our college offer internships but this time due to covid-19 and lockdown scenarios all of them were canceled. Basically, these internships were done in the summer vacations but due to Extention of semesters, they are teaching in these summer vacations. And no one is talking about internships.

Placement Experience :

From the 5th semester, students become eli3for campus placements. Companies visited in the mechanical engineering department are Maruti Suzuki India limited, bajaj, tata motors, etc. In 2021 June Maruti Suzuki is offering a 4.15 lakhs package for an annum. My plans after getting a degree are to get placed in Maruti Suzuki or doing b tech from Delhi.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

My college fees were 20,000 INR per semester and I also opted for mess and hostel. The charges of the hostel were 20,000 INR per annum and mess charges were 2,000 INR per month. I was from the mechanical department and my dream job to be placed in was in Maruti Suzuki India Limited.

Campus Life :

Ok so talking about the annual fest, literally, I didn't even have a chance to attend that because our college organizes the annual fest in March but due to covid-19 issues, they were all canceled.

Hostel Facilities :

Facilities provided in the room were benches, tube lights, and fans thats it, nothing much. If had to review a meal that I get in the mess I would say there's a huge difference in the food as compared to my home. They have different menus for different days. The hostel is preety affordable with 20,000 INR per annum charges. The locality is rubbish there is no PG or rooms for rent.

Placement Experience:

All final semester students are eligible for placements. Company start visiting campus from February month so students should be well prepared in advance. There is 100% placement claimed by the institute which is somewhat true but considering the reality, only 50% of students make up to get the best jobs. A very important factor playing role in this is that students should be all clear in academics and the rest depend on interviews conducted by companies. So yes placement procedure is also good. The highest package goes to around 3 lakhs. Some students plan to opt for a degree so that is also a good choice.
