Remarks :
CBIT is the top engineering college in the Telugu states and to get a seat in CSE in the general quota, one's rank should be below 1000. I got into this college on basis of merit. My eamcet rank was 971. I had CBIT and VNR in my mind before the councelling and since I got CBIT in the first round and knowing the fact that it is the top college, I opted for it. The admission process was quite simple. Firstly had to pay half of the fees to accept our admission and then later report in the college to pay rest of the fees and go through the entire admission process. Everything was quite clean and well managed even in the circumstances of the year 2020. For CSE dept, as per the reservations, Gen cat: below 1500 ( including the new specialization courses); BC:3-4k; SC & ST: below 10k.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I took CIC which is Computer Science with Cybersecurity and IoT including blockchain technology. It is one of the three specialization courses added in the year 2020. I chose this course due to my interest in the field of cybersecurity and IoT during to its increasing demand in the present world. The faculty-student ratio is quite good. For labs one faculty member is assigned for every 20 members. Each section has 60 students. Due to the increase in the numbers of seats, new faculty were recruited and they seem to be quite inexperienced which is one of the drawbacks. Term exams are conducted strictly and in a proper manner. In a semester, we have two mids and 3 slip tests which help in covering all the chapters before the sem end exams. With proper revision and attending the classes, one can pass without any hurdles.
Internships Opportunities :
Every year we are supposed to do a project. Lots of opportunities for internships are provided to the students of all the semesters from the 3rd sem. Technical clubs and the college extends their support if a student is really determined to do a project
Placement Experience :
CBIT has the highest placements in Hyderabad. During the 6th sem one can apply for placements. More than 100 companies visit the college and recruit students for various departments. In the year 2020 the highest package was 42LPA and avg package ranges around 10LPA. More than 70% of students (give or take) get placed. My plans after my degree is to get into a good company with a pleasant working environment or to pursue master's in my specialization.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The college annum fees is 1.34 lakhs per annum which is quite high compared to other engineering colleges in Hyderabad. And all the students were asked to sign an agreement that mentioned about a pending case in court and if they win it, there will be a hike of 30k in the fees. Even if they win the case in the 4th year, we have to pay the hike for all 4 years. I heard that CBIT has the best campus placements and recently also won awards for high placements.
Campus Life :
CBIT conducts an annual cultural (Shruthi) fest and technical fest (Sudhee) every year in the month of February. CBIT is known for its biggest fest and quite famous. It is celebrated and conducted on a grand scale. It has the biggest library with lots of resources. One can find the required book in the library of cbit with more than 4000 books. Sports and extracurricular activities are given equal priority and importance. There is a large cricket and football ground, a basketball court, indoor badminton court, chess room, carroms, table tennis, yoga and gym room etc. There are many student clubs including both technical and nontechnical. Technical clubs help in learning and being exposed to various technologies and getting internships. Nontechnical clubs are the best in CBIT. You can check out the Instagram pages of cbit communicando, cbit toastmasters, cbit transcendent, cbit samskruthi, cbit chaya and many more clubs pages to get insights of the amazing college life in CBIT
