Remarks :
I have applied to different colleges like wgsha Manipal, IPU and ITM IHM. All the colleges were good but IHM Bhubaneswar was better than it. I have not availed any quota but there are various kinds of quota like sc, st and obc. The college you get is on your rank secured in nchm jee and no minimum age criteria. The admission process is simple after securing your rank in nchm JEE there are two rounds of admission in which you need to fill central IHM and state IHM according to your choice and rank. After that, you get a college based on your rank and you need to deposit an amount to secure your seat.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is simple we have 6-7 subjects in every semester. They have both practical as well as theory classes. like on one teacher there are around 80-100 students. All the faculty are well qualified some of them are doctorate and some of them have done excellent in their fields. The teaching method is also great. They teach us in English and always clear our doubts and also help in the assignment.
Internships Opportunities :
A lot of companies like Accor hotels, taj city centre, ITC, Hyatt provide internship opportunity to students. Some of them provide a stipend and some of them not. We need to take over all the departments under the internship.
Placement Experience :
The college provides internship in the second year. The students get placements from the 3rd year only. Accor Hotels, ITC, taj and a lot of hotels are a part of the college and have visited it. Most students are able to get placements from college only. the average package is around 5-6 lakh. After getting my degree I will be pursuing with MSc in hotel management itself.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees structure is simple. we need to pay fees in starting of every semester and the total fees are 3,00,000 for the three years. Many of the seniors have got placements from the college itself with a very good stipend.
Campus Life :
There are many libraries available in the college along with an E-library available for all students and faculty. There are a computer lab and another lab for practical. The different types of extracurricular are also available like badminton, basketball and cricket. The college also conducts different types of debates and cultural program. They also welcome a lot of companies and hotels for webinar and sessions.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel fees are around 45,000. All the basic services are provided in the hostel. Two students or four students share the room in the hostel. The meal quality is awesome and the menu for the whole week is already fixed. The registration process is simple, the hostel room is allotted according to the rank of the students. The locality in Bhubaneswar is V.S.S Nagar where we can rent a room or PG.
