Remarks :
The college is too near to my home. It has bus and metro connectivity. Has a good crowd too. The infrastructure is also nice. The admission process is simple as it is in other DU colleges. The reason for preferring the college was to save the travelling time and expenses. I didn't use any blog or website for selecting this college.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I choose this course because I want to be a teacher. The student teacher ratio is quite well as compared to other courses. There are only 50 students for teachers and also we get some tutorial period for interacting in small group plus we have some subjects where we get the student teacher ratio either 25:1 or 15:1. The facility is qualified and most of the teachers have completed their PhD. The B.El.Ed structure is based on annual mode and a minimum of 50% marks are required for pursuing the next year. Though the exams are meant to happen only once a year for evaluation, the teachers also conduct midterm exams for practice.
Internships Opportunities :
The course curriculum provides different opportunities for practical work. For first year- it is compulsory to do 10 days of school contact program work in MCD school. For the 3rd year, it is compulsory to do 12 days of block teaching and in the final year, it is compulsory to do 2 months internship at school.
Placement Experience :
During the final year, students become eligible for placement. Schools like GD goenka, Rukmani Devi Public School, etc provides jobs to the B.El.Ed students. Package varies between 25-40K depending upon the student and school. Almost 60% of students get their placement done. I want to start the job.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fees are 17000 for first year and remain between 16-17K for all years. There is no scholarship or any assistance provided by the college for it. The students are supposed to pay fees on their own. The fees are affordable and not too high for anyone.
Campus Life :
We have an annual fest with the name Srijan. Apart from this the department of education also organises some guest lectures from time to time. During the first year, the students of B.El.Ed prepares the art exhibition for college. The reading material is provided by the teachers and we have a separate resource room Library for the department of education. It is compulsory to take part in sports day during B.El.Ed 2nd year. The students of B.El.Ed is running an Instagram page for solving the queries regarding B.El.Ed.
