KGEC (Kalyani Government Engineering College) at a Glance!

Remarks :

Considered as one of the best colleges of West Bengal, ranking right after IIT KHARAGPUR, NIT DURGAPUR, and JADAVPUR UNIVERSITY. This is considered to the 2nd best college under the influence of the State Government. Bad aspects are very minimal, except for the negligence of college authorities towards certain important factors. Admission is entirely through the scores of WBJEE and the counseling is held online. There a quota of 10% for JEE MAIN Candidates too.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The main reason behind choosing this course for me was mainly that I liked Robotics a lot. Since I could not get the Electronics Department of Jadavpur University in the counseling, I rather preferred Electronics of this college as compared to other departments of other colleges. Male: Female of college in percentage is 85:15 The facilities are highly qualified, with almost 90% of them carrying PHD degrees. Exams are quite untidy in online methods, otherwise, the physical examinations used to be very thorough and processed.

There is also a full free ship and half free ship scholarship available from the college's side. I got 4 offers during campus placement until now, of CTC ranging from 4.1LPA to 6LPA and an internship of stipend of Rs.12000/-.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Tech in CSE is future proof and a very good course for IT sector jobs and I was always excited working in these companies, that's why I choose the course. There are 10-12 faculties present in every department. Each faculty is M.Tech qualified and Drs. Their teaching quality is very good. 4 internal theory and 2 Lab exams happen each semester. The questions are standard, regular, and sincere students can easily pass.

College was good in terms of studies and many more. But now it fails in giving placement. Most of the students are still unemployed. Only 30% of the students are placed from college. Others have to find there own jobs.
