Remarks :
GOOD: 1. Good University in nearby cities. 2. Lower tuition fees compared to other private universities in Andhra Pradesh. 3. Good Infrastructure and labs are also decent. 4. Foreign student exchange program(Singapore, Korea). 5. Merit scholarship for the Meritorious students. 7. Excellent teaching faculty from IIT's and NIT's. 8. Decent placements. 9) There are lots of clubs like Entrepreneurship Cell( I am a part of it), Students Activity Cell etc. BAD: 1) We even have college on Sundays. 2) Library could be better. 3) College timings ( 8 hours). 4) No free time for other works. I choose this college because this was near to my home so I can be a day scholar. Other than that the college provided me a fee waiver of 25%. The maximum teaching staff is from IIT's and NITS's. and last but not least there is an opportunity to do a foreign internship in reputed institutions abroad. Yes, I have gone through the Collegedunia website for college reviews and placement statistics.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Various courses are provided in this university. I chose mechanical engineering BTech. I choose this course because there is a good scope of this course abroad. But I recommend others to choose software-related courses because in India the present job recruiters want you to be one of these branches. Always high opportunities and preferences are for computer science students in the college. Faculty to student ratio in our college is about 13:1. The faculty is very good in nature, and we do have direct access to faculty. Almost about 50 to 60 percent of the faculty are from IIT's and NIT's. And about 40 percent of faculty hold their Ph.D. degree. The teaching methodology is very good. Both projector screens and whiteboards are used. We have 3 mid-semester exams and one end-semester exam. For mid-exams a little concentration in classes is enough to score good marks. But the end-semester exam is a little bit tough because the paper is set by the faculty from NIT's.
Placement Experience :
Placements in the college are decent compared to nearby colleges. The students become eligible for campus placements right at the start of their 7th semester. Around 40- 50 companies visit college every year. The major recruiters are TCS, INFOSYS, WIPRO. Some other companies like COGNIZANT, HCL, DeltaX, EPAM, Kia Motors also recruit every year. The core branch placements are less compared to IT branches. The average package is around 3.5 lacs/yr and the highest package goes around 7 lacs/yr. For core jobs, the average package is around 2.5 lacs/yr and the highest package is 5 lacs/yr. About 80% of students are placed every year. But only 50% of students join the company in which they are placed. The rest of the students either opts for higher studies, a government job, or a business. I want to get an on-campus job that to a core job.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure for us is 200000/yr. And additional expenses may cost up to another 10000. (including exam fees and CDA fees). Every year for new students there is a hike of about 10% in the fee of the previous batch. The total cost to study for a Hosteller will be about 3-3.3 lakhs/yr and for a day scholar, it will be about 2.5 lakhs/yr. If the student is not availing of any scholarship or fee waiver. There are two types of scholarships in college. 1) Admission time scholarship - will be given at the time of admission. 2) Merit scholarship - will be given to merit students ( you have to be in the top 3 in your branch) The college does not provide any type of financial assistance. If you want, you have to apply for government financial assistance scholarships. But that too depends upon the income of your family. There are no on-campus jobs in our college. But you can join some clubs like E-cell, there you will get work(if you want to do) but no stipend will be provided.
Campus Life :
Life on the campus is not that enjoyable. Because of 6 days of working college. The fest is conducted twice a year namely Srujnankura and another tech fest. The Srujnankura is conducted in January month and the tech fest is conducted around March month. The library has different books and journals for every branch of students. The library also has a digital library in which you can access different online journals. The classes are very good and airy, even some classes have air conditioners. The furniture is also decent. We have a projector screen in almost every classroom with a computer connected to it. The extracurricular activities happen at least once a month. Also, we do have credits for sports so it is been always encouraged on our campus. There are good courts and playgrounds for sports with a small sports room. The college has a lot of clubs like Entrepreneurship cell and student activity cell. And there are also branch-specific clubs for each branch.
Other Applied Colleges
