Remarks :

College is nice. Faculty needs to be improved. Placements needs to be improved.

Entrance Preview :

I joined BUIE through WBJEE entrance exam. My rank is 4395. I opt this college because I am getting admission in ECE and the college is also old and well established.

Course Curriculum Overview :

ECE course is excellent. Labs are also good. Especially antenna lab where equipment are costly. Digital Lab is also good. Wireless communication lab is not good. Electrical engg lab is also fine. But the faculty should not encourage research culture.

Internships Opportunities :

No. College does not provide any kind of internship. Since there is no internship one should not expect any stipend.

Placement Experience :

Placements are very poor by the time when I passed out. 2 got placed in Infosys and 6 got placed in L&T Infotech. Rest were searched jobs by their own after college. There is only one placement office that too in Kolkata only. Hyderbad placemnet office was shutdown during my time. Right now I don't know about the placements.

College Events :

There will be sports events organised annually by college it includes Cricket, Footbal, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Table Tennis. Indoor games like carroms, chess were organized by Hostel Students. Annual tech fest was also organized by Students of 3rd year Btech

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fee structure is less comparing to other private engineering colleges. During my time I had to pay Rs 10,000 quarterly. It includes hostel charges excluding food. For food we need to pay in the mess of the hostel on monthly basis. It will cost around Rs 800 per month based on the number days and number of times per day you ate.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I am not much familial about the scholarships, but yes for poor students with good academic record, will get scholarship but they need approval from principal.

Campus Life :

Camus life was good. What ever the facilities we have we don't bother, just enjoyed the college time especially hostel life is awesome. There are lot of sports events through out the year, depart wise, year wise. Debates will be organized in the English Language laboratory by English faculty. English Lab is Excellent.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel rooms are fine, spacious. Food is not good as usual. For food we need to pay in the mess of the hostel on monthly basis. It will cost around Rs 800 per month based on the number days and number of times per day you ate. Two Hostels are there one building for only 1st year, and other building is for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year.

Alumni/Alumna :

Alimni network is just ok. Yes but the senior students were always helpful to guide us. They are always ready to help us what ever the issue is.

Exam Structure :

Exam Structure is good. There will be weekly based exams and vivas. During exams invigilation is also very strict, especially external invigilators. Internal marks will be based on your performance in the weekly exams. Lab viva were also be there organized by lab assistants along with class room faculty. There they will ask questions of both theoretical and practical which awesome.

Faculty :

Most of the faculties are MTech, most of them were pursuing MTech. In ECE dept its hard to find single PhD faculty. They should be more experienced. There is no faculty for explaining antenna theory and electromagnetic theory. Also need good physics faculty. Visiting faculties from NIT Durgapur is excellent.

The highest placement package was offered by microsoft for 51 lpa as PPO to 14 students and the role was IDC. The average package is around 7.5 lpa. I am planning to appear in GATE exam and go for masters in IITs after completion of my degree where i will be persuing my further studies in transportation engineering.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Tech in CSE is future proof and a very good course for IT sector jobs and I was always excited working in these companies, that's why I choose the course. There are 10-12 faculties present in every department. Each faculty is M.Tech qualified and Drs. Their teaching quality is very good. 4 internal theory and 2 Lab exams happen each semester. The questions are standard, regular, and sincere students can easily pass.

College was good in terms of studies and many more. But now it fails in giving placement. Most of the students are still unemployed. Only 30% of the students are placed from college. Others have to find there own jobs.
