Remarks :
This college is very famous in Pune. I have heard it from many of my relatives too. The campus is very big and it indulges in alot many cultural activities like world food day, gatherings and more. Also, there are not many universities that provide the course of food technology. The faculty is supportive in every way and encourages students to participate in all programs. The admission process is similar to that of every other engineering college. Board marks, entrance exam marks are needed. I got admitted bypassing the college's entrance exam.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course as it a very interesting and equally important in everyone's lives. The faculty-student ratio is normal as 1:60. All the teaching faculty is qualified, and are either Mtech or PhD in the same course. Their methods are also very easy to understand. Exams are on time, even if they are online now. The exams are moderately hard, and the faculty helps students in every way to cope up with the subjects they lag in.
Internships Opportunities :
The companies like Amul, Cadbury, Haldiram, spurti dahi, chitale, and many more companies. I haven't yet started my internship so I can't tell you about the stipend. Also, many projects are asked to complete by the college itself so it becomes easy for students to enter companies.
Placement Experience :
Students can get internships from 3rd year and hands-on training in 4th year. Almost 90 percent of students get placements in good companies like Cadbury, Haldiram, spurti dahi, chitale and others. The salary depends on the company. After my BTech degree, I'm planning to attend a Mtech course in food technology from the University in Poland, that has a tie-up with MIT ADT.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees are 1.65 lakh INR per year for BTech food technology. The fees are a little higher than other courses, but I feel it is worth it as the labs are clean and fully equipped. The college is clean and alot of trees are around the college. The syllabus also covers almost the whole of this industry. There is no scholarship. The companies that hire students, like Amul, Haldiram, chitale, and more are introduced by the college.
Campus Life :
There is an annual fest that includes activities like dance, singing competitions, sports competitions, and world food day celebrations which are conducted in the month of February. There is a central library, that has all the reference books and journals, and research papers, also there is a digital library to operate from home. Not many amenities in the classroom are there. There are clubs like yoga clubs, design clubs, and more.
