Remarks :
Good remarks: Discipline, Quality of the college, No bad remarks on drug life, Senior management.
Entrance Preview :
Entrance examination was EAMCET. Score: 109, I had a good score in EAMCET and my native was Visakhapatnam, so I opted for this college as this is one of the most descent college. There was no interview during admission. Admission was only based through ranking in EAMCET. I had a rank of 4953 among 1.5 lac students who appeared for EAMCET.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course was maintained by JNT Kakinada, and the structure was well established. Learning according to the syllabus and by practicals, we can gain a good knowledge here. Whatever we learn, we need to apply the concepts for a better understanding. Also, if the student follows the course structure as by the college, it is more than enough to apply your thoughts correctly.
Internships Opportunities :
Our college does not provide internship, but instead encourages us to do internship by giving the reference to some of the big companies in the city like Vizag Steel Plant - where I too did my internship, BSNL etc.
Placement Experience :
We have a good number of IT companies coming to our college like TCS, WIPRO etc. These IT companies first come to our college for placement and then prefer other colleges like Gitam University etc. We have a good reputation among placements in Visakhapatnam. During my time only 200 students were placed in TCS which is comparatively less in number as the company itself decided to take few student in that year. Where as in 2013 and 2015, the count was above 400.
College Events :
I participated in dance a lot, and our college conducts fest once in 2 years which will be the best part of engineering life. Apart from that, we celebrate teachers day every year. Fest has both technical and cultural events, technical events include Bot racing, quiz, challenges etc. Also, I have organised an event called snooker bots, where the bots need to place the blocks into the hole.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
During my days, my college fee was 30-31 k plus building fee of 10-11 k, which adds up to 40-42 k an year. I did not have any reimbursement so had to pay the whole amount. But, now the fee is increased to 75-80 k an year. It was feasible for me during my time, but now I feel it is a bit more compared to fee structure in 2014.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I heard there is an educational loan for the students who can take loan for the fees of 4 years and can pay after they got the job. But in my case, I did not take any loan, and this is the only loan i know of.
Campus Life :
Campus life were good, and we miss them most of the time. The good thing in our college is we don't have much bad reputation about drugs life. The college is known for discipline. Gender ratio of boys to girls is 2:1. We used to have wide range of sports activities like Table tennis, Volleyball, cricket. Debates used to held once in an year. We wear formal to the college, no college uniform as such.
Hostel Facilities :
I was a day scholar so I do not have much experience on hostel life that time. But my friends used to tell that hostel food was not upto the mark as always. The hostel rooms were okay, not too good not too bad and it is 3 sharing. They used to pay 40 k an year. Standard of food needs to be increased.
Alumni/Alumna :
My college seniors gave us a broad knowledge of how next year would be and helped a lot during placements. Ragging was very rare, it was only for fun. Mostly the interaction would be technical.
Exam Structure :
As usual in engineering, the exam structure is 2 semesters a year, hence total 8 semesters for 4 years. For each semester we had 2 mid preparation which will add up (25%) for the internal marks in the semester with the rest external (75%). The respective labs were once in a week, and yeah they were hectic sometimes and chilled out sometimes.
Faculty :
The college has really a well experienced faculty, of more than 40 years like Govinda Rao Sir, Parvatisam Sir. Also we have faculty who have less experience, but the teaching quality is good. Some faculty explain in details, where as some leave to the student for self learning. Difficult concepts were explained well by the senior faculty. After all, self learning is very important for an engineering student.
