Entrance Preview :
SNAP - Do not remember the score. I was interested to take up Operations management. NITIE and SIOM are the only colleges in India which provide dedicated/ specialized Operations management courses.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Course curriculum is very intensive in terms of Operations management. The college recruits only engineers which is an added advantage to the course. They follow APICS supply chain management course structure which is acknowledged as a global standard for operations management.
Internships Opportunities :
College supports internship placements. The student coordinators are the owners of this process. Faculty PR supports in every way they can. Lot of good companies come for internship like Idea, Bosch, John Deer etc. Stipend raged from 10K to 40K.
Placement Experience :
Placement opportunities are good for eligible and worthy candidates. Lot of good companies like Delloite, Robert Bosch, Godrej, Accenture, KPMG, PWC, E&Y, Amazn, Flipkart, IBM, TCS, Infosys, Mahindra logistics, GM, JDA etc come to the campus. packages start from 8 lpa and rage up to 20 lpa based on the experience and capability.
College Events :
All festivals are celebrated at college. Lohri, Christmas, holi, ganesh chaturthi, sankranti, dussera etc. Apart from all these regular college events are owned and organised by the students. Drishti is an event organised for colleges all over India on quizzes and technical knowledge - paper presentations are organised. Competitions are conducted. HR Summit for knowing best practices in the area of HR operations.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Fee is 8 lakhs. Compared to all other good colleges, it is good and affordable. It was only 4 Lakhs when we completed MBA. Now the base charge increased. The fees includes all expenditure like hostel fees, food, study material, books etc. No extra charges taken by the institute for education purpose.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I have not availed any scholarship facility. But university gives scholarship for eligible candidates who apply.
Campus Life :
There is no gender disparity in the college. All are given equal opportunity. Best part is the ownership that is given to students on different committees. They have to own any event, from the point of planning the event to get sponsorship, to decide on the themes, deciding and inviting guests and organising the event and to preparing thank you notes and sending.
Alumni/Alumna :
The college will be 10 years old this year. So the alumni are and middle management position. Alumni is strong. With the help of alumni only the placements are growing stronger.
Exam Structure :
Semister system. 60% external 40% internal. Internal includes tests and labs both. Apart from regular curriculum, training is given on tools like SAP, SPSS, Data analytics tools etc. The college is very strong with respect to curriculum. The day is structured so that you have enough time to learn and grow on all areas. If planned will and not waste time, the curriculum is well planned to cover overall development of the student.
Admission :
Admission process included extempore, group discussion, personal interview with the panel and another round of interview with the director. From SNAP website, I applied for SIOM. I got call for admission process as I was eligible through the SNAP score.
Faculty :
Visiting faculty is top most in the MBA market. They bring lot of personal and practical experience. Internal faculty is good. College also arranges a lot of guest lectures from industry experts. They have also introduced mentoring program with senior Alumni which will help current students groom to meet industry standards.
