Remarks :

Clat is the exam which you need to clear to get into the college. The exam is generally conducted in May and the students getting an ank approximately between 400-1000 can get this college if not in the first list, in the subsequent lists for sure.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Law can be a very good option and as budding lawyers you get to learn a lot. So I was always fascinated tiwards law as a career. I am a BALLB student so my studies include more of Political Science, sociology & all including Law. Faculty at RGNUL is really supportive according what I have got to know as a first year student who has not really met everyone in person as I am in a batch of 2020! But I have got a very good guidance from the faculty members. Moreover, they prepare us well for being good researchers. This is all for now as I have not got to meet other faculty members except the ones teaching to 1st year students.

Internships Opportunities :

There is an internship cell in the College who gives you knowledge about the internships. For the initial years, you get internships without stipend and you usually intern under NGOs and in law firms from 2nd or 3rd year.

Placement Experience :

We don't have a very good alumnus base to be honest as most of the students choose PPOs or opt for higher studies abroad. Also many students get placed in tier 2 law firms on an average package of 6-8 Lakhs. Others prefer to go for Judiciary.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

RGNUL is a bit expensive compared to other tier 2 NLUs as it have a better campus among them all and so the fees is a bit high. The fees altogether ranges to 2.4 Lakhs/year. But a student can get different scholarships so it's pretty much fine for students.

Campus Life :

As I have not really got to see my college for now but according to what I have heard campus life is fun. There is a cultural committee to look after the fests & all. Also library here is very good, as I have got online access to it. There are plenty of materials to refer. Committes run by students include CASEL, LDC, CASIHR etc.

Hostel Facilities :

Haven't really got to live in the Hostels but we have ac rooms, beautiful campus and a really good mess. It's a residential university so you have to stay in the college but yes that's college life and it's fun anyway.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course as it's very self awarening course about the rights of an individual and national. But the college curriculum is ok not so satisfying. Suggestions for improvement will be that the college should maintain a proper schedule system of the events per year. Exams difficultly level is not very high...it's ok... I would rate faculty members 6 out of 10

Course Curriculum Overview:

The answer depends on the management and leadership style of the university. If the university is research based and managed and led in a collegiate style, then lecturers will be invited to teach particular courses based on their experience and knowledge. The teaching load will be fairly evenly spread, depending on a lecturer’s and professor’s position and other responsibilities (e.g. course directorships). Senior lecturers and above may well decline to teach a module but will have to ensure their teaching load is at the required level - so they cannot simply opt not to teach unless they are bringing income in from other sources (e.g. research activities). If the university is heavily orientated to student numbers and research/publication is a fringe activity pursued by a minority of staff, then the situation will be very different. In such organisations the teaching load is much heavier and consequently so are the demands placed on lecturers. They will have much less leverage for de

Admission:

There is an All india entrance examination wherein out of a total of 80 seats per batch, 60 are reserved for wards of serving/retired army personnel, 16 are reserved for punjab domicile students and 4 seats are reserved for all india civil category. The test for fairly simple and there was no negative marking either. I chose it because it is a bit cheaper than the other options and the students you meet share a common background which is usually helpful.

Placement Experience:

The placement and job opportunities are at the worst place they can be. There is not a single law firm (corporate or litigation) which comes to the college for placements. There is no concept of day zero in the college. The organizations that come are primarily insurance firms which give a less than sustainable offer which has to be taken by the students because of the inherent lack of choice. The college doesn't even provide internships in law offices and discourages anyone who wants to apply and intern on their own. There is no attendance relaxation shown for students who are interning and there is no internship break given by the college, hence the students have to miss classes and intern at the risk of getting detained (yes this has happened). The college always maintains that the internships are a personal responsibility and the college doesn't care about the students internships. The college doesn't have the authority which has the expertise to run like an actual law college.

Admission:

The admission was given on the basis of online counseling which conducted by the University authorized by Government of Punjab. I just applied for the college and had to give a telephonic interview and then was sent the offer letter for the admission.

Placement Experience:

We have a placement cell in the college which informs us about various placements that come to college and help us to prepare for that. The college doesn't provide any internship as such but we can apply and get for internships off campus. However we can do internships only in college holiday periods as attendance is a big issue here.
