Remarks :
It is one of the highest ranked college at South Campus for pursuing Political Science. I personally chose to apply because it was near to my house and was easy to commute. Moreover, I wanted to pursue Political Science since school and Sri Venkateswara College did provide me with great learning experience.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The year I joined, the entire course syllabus updated and followed CBCS. The college has the best faculty for Political Science as the classrooms were vibrant with variety of thoughts and opinions. The best class to attend was International Relations as the professor was very engaged with the way she taught the subject. However, the college does take account of individuals' attendance very seriously. A minimum of 66% of attendance is needed, if one seeks no issues with the examination admit card.
Placement Experience :
The college has Placement Cell which provides with all the information and details. The Placement Cell keeps the students updated on various opportunities and potential experience that they may gain. There are various seasonal internships programmes as well.
College Events :
The campus allows various activities from sports to any form of art like music, dance, painting, poetry etc. There are different societies for each one of them along with societies for social services, women empowerment, regional integration (north-east) as well. The annual fest, NEXUS, is a grand event with partnerships along various well-known companies. The star night at the fest are usually awaited by students from all Delhi University colleges. The management during these events are handled in a smooth manner. Only students with the DU IDs are allowed to attend the event. The student union is very effective in representing the voices of the students to the administration. Every year fair elections are also being held. The other administration work like filling the semester examination forms are done online which is more feasible rather than standing hours on a queue.
Campus Life :
The college has an impressive infrastructure even though it is located at Satya Niketan. If you're commuting in monsoon, you're bound to have a sour experience. Apart from that, inside, the gardens are scenic and the auditorium is always bustling with melodies and activities. In the entrance, itself is a temple. Moreover, the canteen is spacious with both closed and open seating arrangements. The Political Science classes mostly happen in the ground floor and the good part about that is we get the rooms T1 and T2 assigned, which are the best rooms in the college. The library is well-stocked with digitalized information which makes looking for books easy.
