Shobhit Kumar's Review On Institute Of Hotel Management - [IHM], Gurdaspur

Remarks :

Director of college belongs to our family background and teachers do a lot of support. Got review from past seniors. My elder brother also graduate from this college. So i decides to join this for my future

Course Curriculum Overview :

No industry exposureNo practical knowledgeOnly theortical knowledgeFaculties avgCourse is too good. Bright future. Industry prefers EC candidate. Evergreen course. You can choose multiple line for future

Internships Opportunities :

Yes I have opted the internship during my course and got the opportunity to work in all core Department of hotel as was working as a profile of hotel trainee. I think when you are in learning phase it's more important to have exposure of learning rather than earning but yes when you are interning with any organisation they definitely pay some basic amount. And in the course it is mendatory to undergo in industrial Exposure.

Placement Experience :

So best part about the college after completion of the course you'll be with atleast 1 job in your hand & the college placement coordinator guarantee with one job in your pocket but also does guarantee you job in the desired department but I guess it's important to have a job rather than be a jobless after investing 3 year in course. So all the big companies like Oberoi, IHG, McDonald, Lemon Tree Hotel, Marriott, Hilton, Accor, and more brand around 25 from the hospitality, hotel, restaurant, QSR and retail comes for campus recruitment drive.

College Events :

So our college does not only offers you the study facilities but also gives you the chance to show your ability and potential in the field of events and extra curricular activities like thought out the year sports events goes on.Also from arts and culture society also gives you the opportunity to show up your talent. You'll witness all national festival celebration also you'll have cross culture exchange and thought in the campus as gives importance to all kind of festivals. You'll also have opportunity to show your talent in professional skill as college does the activities where you can go to other colleges and show your talent and build skill in yourself.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

No I haven't any scholarships from college as Fully sponsored by my parents but my college does also have scholarship program as well in which you can fill the scholarship form and as per the criteria you'll be rewarded as scholarship as per your capability.

Campus Life :

Wifi perfectInfra AvgLibrary -- less booksEquipment- just for showSports facility is the best in this college. Vast grounds use for successful tournaments. Trophies. Matches with many other college students

Hostel Facilities :

New hostel. Infra good. Bad new. Ground floor is best. Rent around 75000 for non ac. No ac facility is there.buildings is so vast and mess too. But food is not enough good. Including in 75000 per person per year

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum could be a little more practical rather than just theoretical, court visits are very few and there's no provision for placement through college so it is kinda like a big disappointment.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In this course, exams are conducted 4 times in each and every semester. There are 2 MSTs which are monthly test held for 20 marks which will have a direct effect on the internal marks of the students. And after that there is a practicals exam for 20 marks, after which the main semester exam is done for 60 marks. All these curriculum activities helps the students in preparing for competitive exams or building up our own business. The practicals done in these days help the students to get a more comprehensive and scientific view on the study of their own respective courses.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is the worst part of my college Computer Engineering students need to learn chapters like Manufacturing Processes, Engineering Design i.e Mangonel and I don't know how will it help in industries. In my entire 4 years, there was no subject for javascript, instead they provide the options between ML/AI, AWS and full stack. But Javascript should be introduced as a general elective. Exams are conducted intensively MId sems, end sems, 2 sessionals, 2 lab evaluations and 2 vivas, making the life of the student harder.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements here are pretty decent , not that much good but if study hard specifically for placements then easily can get around 6lpa paclage , also there is plenty of time for other comptetevie exams such as gate , cat or upsc people spend ample amount of time in studyng these subjects and get selectd too , also higher study in foreing university and colleges can be focused if cgpa can be foced based on acadmics , the opportunity here is never ending.

Placement Experience:

I would rate On campus placements of my university as moderate as there are few companies that visit are college and most of them are service based so we cant expect much from them. After 6th sem students get eligible for campus placements. Some of top companies that visited our college from many years are KPMG, TCS, Accenture, Zscaler etc. Highest package till now is around 44lpa and lowest is about 3.5lpa. Around 70-80% Students get placed every year. After Getting degree I will try to crack a good company or will try for higher studies

I chose this course to pursue my computer course. There are about 100 to 150 students in my classroom. The teachers are very good. Mode of teaching is online for me. Time table is set by students as per their availability.

Placement Experience:

Placement are not bad or good , but decent. If you will study hard and give your time to study and develop skills then definitely you will get good packages. But if you will not study and don't take it seriously then their is no guarantee of placements .
