My college days

SS

Remarks :

Got admission in reservation quota, with 10,000 rs admission fees only. College 1 st and 2d year batch has merit students. Teaching staff was good. Admission process was simple for me. Submitted all the document and got the admission as i scored enough marks to get the admission. Admission was done in November 2009. College management was not good. Hostel facility and canteen was also not good in my years of education. Got so much frustrated as i didnt get leaves to go home. Prime reason to get admission was to get a degree. I did not selected this college. College admission staff called me for the admission.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The teaching faculty was good and qualified. The dental subject faculty was good enough to conduct classes and practicals. But the medical subject faculty for anatomy, physiology and medicine were so aged that they could not teach or conduct the practicals that sportingly as compared to other staff. Exams were conducted timely and in strict manner it was easy to pass as u have to study by urself, and if u fail u have to pay tution fees.

Internships Opportunities :

Internship is compulsary for 1 year and had to be done in present college or u can take other college of ur choice for externship. By giving exam and on merit basis u get the call for internship.

Placement Experience :

No campus placement, as it a Dental college. But once u get the degree u can opt for further studies or open ur clinic.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Now the fees structure is around 2 lakhs per year as it is a private college. Cost to study is very high for a middle class family student. I dont have any idea about any scholarship. College did not provide any financial assistance. No arrangement for campus placement. Stipend is very less as compared to government colleges.

Campus Life :

Annual fest in November- january and ganpati festival in september is conducted. Workshop and conferences also held couple times a year. College has a full fledged library with all national international authors journal and book. Also e library is available. In class rooms proper seating arrangement with projector, speaker and mike is available. Sports competition to be held in annual fest. Nothing more to do in extracurricular activities. British council for student is available. NGO visits and dental camps arranged by college.

Hostel Facilities :

In first year hostel were not up to the mark, but gradually infrastructure is developed. Security gate and security person provided to hospital. Cleaning done daily. Facilities in hostel are, 2 student have share room, 2 beds, 2 chairs, 2 table, 2 cupboards provided. No facility of wifi. TV Room and gym and cooking area is also provided. Mess meal is not that upto the mark. U can opt for outside tiffin services also. If the rooms are available u get the hostel facility. No hectic procedure for hostel admission. U can get a rented room or pg in near by places with affordable prices.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The reason why I chose this course is because I was interested in the human body anatomy and biology. Subjects like oral surgery, radiology and general medicine are my current favourites. The curriculum prepares us for real life cases by including various examples of different patients. The practical quota is such that it requires the students to attend to the patient in real life scenarios in an actual hospital. These experiences gained in the clinics during the course help in better understanding the theory part of the curriculum.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is well matched with the courses. There are practical classes which are really important for the health care field. In those classes we are actually taught the skills which we will require in our work, which will help us to treat our patients. Every skill is thought in detail and we even have practical examination which will check how much we have learnt. Exams are of a good level which prepare us to use our concepts, hence shaping our mind for the future situations.

Course Curriculum Overview:

BDS is the only degree where you start with specialization. You have a limited part to deal with but has diverse clinical cases. One can easily set up a clinic after BDS unlike MBBS . The course also has the involvement of medical subjects for first two years. Each year has two internal exams , one prelims and then a final university exam

Placement Experience:

As this is a professional course there are no placements here the students have to excel on their own by setting up a clinic or preparing for masters. I am most likely to prepare for the matter degree and wish to get the same college for a masters degree.

Remarks:

Positives: A healthy hassle free environment without any kind of ragging related issues. One of the safest colleges for Womens. Frequent placement drives from various of companies all over India. Leaves you with adequate knowledge about the subject with acceptable academics. Negatives: Not suitable if you want to enjoy the college life along with academics. Fee structure is not feasible for lower class people if appointed through management.
